VOTC Stormtrooper discoloration
jokabofe:
Over the past few days I've been digging through some boxes and trying to see if I can find some stuff to get rid of, to scale back my collection somewhat. I keep tons of loose figures for customizing, future dioramas and just plain ol' army building in large rubbermaid 40 gallon tubs. These tubs are made of fairly thick rubber and have lids that lock and seal everything inside in case you've never seen them. I opened one of the tubs and I found about 20 or so VOTC Stormtroopers. All of them have discolored!! The arms/legs/helmets are now a different color than the torso!! It's not a completely different color - not badly yellow or anything - but it is definitely a different white than the rest. And the part that kills me is that these have been stored away from light and everything. Anybody else notice this color change??
gorkoracing:
I have a japanese thx insert potf2 stormtrooper thats started yellowing along with the bubble. I also have some commtech stormys with yellowing bubbles and have seen AOTC 12 inch clones with green helmets and brown legs but havent noticed any of my votc stormies changing yet.
jokabofe:
These are loose, not carded, and have been stored away from light. I'm not sure why this is happening to them. And it's not just 1 or 2, it's the whole lot.
gorkoracing:
Interesting. I've heard people talk about the oil from your hands causing things like this before. That is odd though. Whats the temp and atmoshpere like in the room?
CHEWIE34:
That really sucks... I was noticing that my VOTC Stormtroopers weren't the same pure white as the Tantive IV Stormie, and sold off my VOTC's a while back. I didn't however have any of the discolor only on the limbs though - but all my SAGA Snowtroopers had the same thing happen that your VOTC Stormies did... and I have noticed that some of Walmart's later shipments of the Tantive IV Battlepack have discolored torsos already even when they were first put on the shelves.
