Great dio, Ron and a great subject too. As always details are spot on and again it shows you think through quite a bit. Everything fits in place. Is his left really shut or did you just not paint it I bought some of those plastic plants for a buck or two. Seeing your work, I thought they might be useful to me as well sometime. But first I gotta get off my behing and continue with my TF dio

Hi All Belloq86 Thanks for cheering me up. Just one thing, how many years did it take you to become the wonderful customizer you are now? I actually started doing military models which I've been doing since I was 12 yrs old, that was 28 yrs ago. As for customs I think it's been about 8 yrs since I did my first one which was a Capt Picard, and I'm still learning alot. Ron Oh, well that's good. I have plenty of time then because I'm only 17.

Hi All Well here is my first SW custom 2009 hope you all enjoy and I'll get to reply to everyone's forums within the next day or two. I've had this little project on the back burner for a while now as I wasn't to sure how I wanted to display it, and after sometime I decided to go with the dio you see now. I wanted to have a Scout Trooper in his sector just waiting around for something to happen so I gave him a casual posture with his helmet off. Once the whole dio was completed it was painted using Vallejo and Games Workshop paints. RECIPE Scout Trooper - Is from Hasbro he has been modified by seperating his legs so I could get a good sitting posture on him, his joints were puttied up using Games workshop greenstuff. Speeder - Is also from Hasbro it has been modified as well, I got rid of the bulky looking handles and foot pads by adding plastic rod and plastic strips to give it a more realsitic look. I also added steering rods using plastic rod as well. Base - Is a small picture frame I got from a $2 shop it has had a mixture of plaster of paris and fine sand added to it, once dry it was painted and then static grass and plastic fish tank plants were added. Ron

Now I just have to wonder WHY in the hell doesn't hasbro MAKE a scout trooper like this that fits ON a speeder bike like you has modded yours to do. Great job as always and its always a pleasure to see the awesome custom work you do.

Very nice piece, Ron. I have something similar in the works, but have been trying to fit Microman hip joints in my Biker Scout. That's proven to be more difficult than I thought. Now I'm thinking of taking your route for this. Or use a POTF2 pelvis and upper legs... The retooling of the bike is pretty sweet. Again, I'm working on that too. I like your approach on the handles and steering vanes' cables. I just cut out the closed parts on the steering vanes' er... tubes. Could you show a pic of the foot pedals? I downsized them quite a bit and want to add a foot peg on each and a little rail made of pieces of paperclip. The blanket on the rear is a nice detailed touch, but you could've used a tad more Greenstuff to fill the seam between the rear end and the middle part Great dio, nonetheless, Ron!

Hi All Darth Doomy-Doom - Thanks mate glad you liked the mods and appreciate the feedback. VadersFist - Maybe one day Hasbro will make there figures fit certian types of vehicles until then it's up to us. And thanks for the reply mate. Incom - Always appreciate the comments mate thank you. Incom wrote tubes. Could you show a pic of the foot pedals? Pics are below hope they help you out, there very simple mods but they work. The blanket on the rear is a nice detailed touch, but you could've used a tad more Greenstuff to fill the seam between the rear end and the middle part I totally be honest I was going to fill the gap but when looking at it once the mods were done I decided against it. I liked the feel of it and I figured they look like extra cooling ports. Ron

Wow....Ron. I really love this. The base is awesome, very well done, and achieves a great look of endor.
The scout is impeccably done. Perhaps if hasbro let some "real" artisans and crafters do the work on figs and the like they would make more bread.

Fair enough, Ron Thanks for those close up pics of the pedals. Mine have been sanded and cut in exactly the same fashion. I'll snap some shot and start my own Speeder Bike thread

Hi All I've had a few 501st Troopers and a Vader in the bits box for a while now and decided to do a simple display to show them off, The decision to do a Death Star scene was very easy as I think it really sets the figures off. RECIPE Vader - Vader is from Hasbro and has had his joints glued and puttied together, his robes have been set in position using watered down material glue. Once the ropes dried I painted him using Games Workshop paints, I added Woodlland scenic's real water to the armour to give it a gloss look. Troopers - The Troopers are also from Hasbro which are the special (Vaders 501st Legion). I removed the Imperial logo from there chest as I didn't like it, I glued and puttied the joints together and then repainted them using Games workshop paints and added Woodlland scenic's real water to the armour to give it a gloss look. Base - Is a small picture frame I got from a $2 shop it has been re-inforced using foam core and the the floor is thick cardboard which has had the floor panels scribed into it using a model knife and tweezers. The wall has been made using cardboard and balsa wood, the small control panel has been made using cardboard and 1/35 pieces from the bits box The banners are also from the (Vaders 501st Legion) and Once I was happy with the look of the wall I painted the whole base using Reaper and Games Workshp paints. The has had a few coats of Woodlland scenic's real water to it to give it that polished look. Ron

Hi All This figure was actually a commission job for (Josh) over on MOUSEDROID ,but ended up being a one for one project. In return for me doing this figure he's doing me a small section of a Star Trek (TWOK) bridge for me. He sent me the figure and I got started on finding pics from books and the net. Once I found the references I wanted I started work on him, Josh wanted articulation to be on the figure still which once the armour was re-attached you still have 75%-80% articulation left. The other decision that we both tried to figure out was what type of base to do, Josh decided to leave it up to me so for me the easy choice was a Tatooine style base. I decided on this type of base as it fits in well with any type of SW character and it sets the figure off without the base being to over powering and distracting from the figure itself. And hey Dengar would have been on some sought of desert planat once in his life. RECIPE Body - The body is from Sideshow Toys and it's the Bespin Luke one I liked it as it's a smaller size and works great with the armour and outfit. The head is from Hasbro and the gloves are from the Endor Soldier from Sideshow Toys. Uniform & Equipment - The whole uniform is from Hasbro except the following, side pouches are from Endor Soldier from Sideshow Toys. The holster and pistol are from Sideshow Toys Bespin Luke, and the MG 34 is from Dragon Models. I also replaced the crappy forearm guards with guards from a Hasbro ROTS clonetrooper and added strips to that using plasti card. I aslo added leather straps to the arms, legs and crotch area. Base - the base is from Sideshow Toys SW 1/6 line, I added marine foam on top and the side then roughly pulled pieces off and then added plaster of paris and fine sand, Once dry I painted the whole base to the desired colour. Ron
