Picked up one of those little flying ship things... can't remember the name. Anyway, it won't look the same for very long. Or at least it won't look the same once I get started on the repaint... which might take a while to get started.

I was at Target today after consult for Oral Surgery for a wisdom tooth, so wanted to see what they had. I seen they had the plane and jeep exclusives and a few comic packs and 2 figs.

Yep, I believe those are wave 7, which are just now starting to appear. Scout and wild bill are part of that wave. They started hitting caly last weekend. Maybe next week they'll make their way to atlanta.

I have a question, is the scarred Cobra soldier supposed to be the one they called Scarface? He was in issue #16 and Dr. Venom (not a big as a dork as Mindbender and waaaaaaaay before) used to pump him full of toxins! Is the scarred Cobra Officer packed with the Crimson Guard (Fred) Scarface?? Any Larry Hama GI Joe Comic buffs in here?

I recall the issue well, it was called Night Attack. I believe you are mistaken on the deaths but I think Snake Eyes and Quinn were already "dead"  ;)   Can't remember it exactly but I remember Cobra Commander and Hawk went at it on the back of the tank and Destrho shot Hawk in the head, don't worry non-readers, it only grazed his temple! I really should start tracking these down with all the shows I go to, it is ONE thing from my childhood I really miss.

the one i am thinking about is #18 or 19 then. in this one venom shoots quinn in the back and quinn drops a grenade blowing venom up. oh and in #16 destro shoots hawk in the back but he has a bulletproof vest on. i still have most of mine. of course i have like 20 boxes of comics so that is not surprising.

I just think this whole line looks freakish - too tall and skinny. awkward upper abdominal articulation. granted that hasbro has made some freakish gi joes in the past but the formula just is wrong.. remember the super buff era of gi joes? I think that was called the Joe extreme.. anyway.. the figures have great points of articulation but need to put some meat on them bones - they all look like they need a sandwich.

The one that stands out in my mind is Sgt. Flash. The only one I thought looked a tad strange. I'm still wondering when they'll make Dr. Venom and Billy since they have made Scarface now!

It wouldn't surprise me this day and age there was a Joe under the don't ask policy. However we'll leave the politics at the door! I thougth that's what Chuckles was back in the day!  ;)  I'm going to go out later today and see what Joe comics are to be had.  :)

TRU had the exclusive 3 packs this morning, but ms shb said they looked like repaints to her, so we passed.
