25th Anniversary G.I. Joe Figures.
« on: November 10, 2007, 09:47:58 AM »
I have been really digging these new Joe's as of late. The sculpts, articulation, and accessories they pack in are incredible. Anybody else buying these little gems up? Here are some pictures I took of the new ones I picked up recently.

We Star Wars collectors tend to get a little irritated with Hasbro when they don't update a figure they made 10 years ago.  The Joes fans had to wait about 20 years for updated Joes, and it's been well worth the wait.  The 25th anniversary sculpts are exactly the facelift the classic figures needed.  I mean, they even managed to make Shipwreck look good!  They look so much more, uh, realistic rather than the cartoonish sculpts of their predecessors.

I will say this:  I miss the little rivets that held the joints together.  They were awkward, but to me, they made a Joe a Joe.  ;D

I got the Cobra Legions for my lil guy for Xmas and I really can't say enough about them creating the Cobra Air Trooper! VERY cool, true fans of Joe have been waiting for this one since ISSUE #1! I hope they continue to make figures from the comics because they were so well written. I'm just wondering since we seen Quinn the Eskimo, where the hell is Dr. Venom and Billy???

I think I am going to be working on in the new year trying to get me some of these G.I.Joe 25th anniv figures that have the sound and is a complet set. I am a G.I.Joe fan as I have season 1 complete, season 2-part 1 complete and season 2 part 2 never made it out :(. If who ever the HELL ::) has the licenses would FINISH the series on dvd then I would even love that even better. I mean come on, there is only one more dvd box set to go that they need to finish and that is season 2 part B so I think who ever has it SHOULD finish it.

I've been reading on the DVD sets for quite some time and it doesn't look like it's ever going to happen.   The company that made the first three sets no longer has the license and there's a bunch of rights issues surrounding the last block of shows still missing.    At least He-Man is coming out in February.

That sucks on the G.I Joe episodes because I really wanted the last block of episodes. But the HE-MAN is ALREADY finished from the OLD SKOOL He-Man, but the new is being released as of now.

Just saw the latest wave (I'm guessing) at Target - Blow Torch, Snowjob, another Snake Eyes, Destro and someone else. They had a ton of them, the most of these G. I. Joe figures I've ever seen at one time - at least 3 pegs worth.

Damn, you and Spice have seen the new ones now. They haven't hit the North woods yet, but I am eagerly awaiting their arrival. I was able to score 2 Cobra Legions sets for $6 and some change a piece at our Target last week. I almost felt like I was stealing them sets they were so cheap. ;D

You guys are getting me really excited with all these pictures that are being shown that it makes me want to start collecting these figures again. I haven't seen any since the last time I was there at Target a few weeks ago, but hopefully they are restocked by now. I have to acquire a set or something of some G.I Joes really soon.

Found the complete set of the latest wave of GI Joe 25th today in Miami.     Grenadier Destro brings back memories.    Are the two packs that are showing up at Target the same line.   They look different to me...cheaper looking somehow.    Anyone feel the same way?

$6  :o

Damn, I saw it for $12 at our Target and was tempted to grab one, but fought off the urge. It would have just ended up in the fodder pile anyway.

the 2-packs r based on the comics but for some reason most of their paint jobs look like they came from the cartoon. except for the new figures such as hawk, torch, and ripper that werent done on the single cards, they match up well with the single carded figures.

Yeah, that's pretty much why I bought a Zartan. He was always my favorite figure/character from G I Joe when I was a youngin. I've bought a few other figures since, but mostly just to use the gear and the bodies for customizing. I actually got lucky and found 2 Zartans - 1 became my custom Mando, and the other is going to stay right on my shelf. I also ended up with the Sigma 6 version of Zartan, the only Sigma 6 figure I bought.

Gotta love them old Larry Hama story lines, truly some well-written stuff. Classic example of making the best of the crap Hasbro can dish out!  ;D :P
