Vintage figure showcase week 38: B-Wing Pilot


Originally carded in 1984 on the RotJ 77-back card, the B-Wing Pilot marks the first vintage "army builder" pilot for the Rebellion. There are two variations of this figure; the first version has an empty circle on the chest plate in the lower right part of the silver rectangle, and it also has a buckle on both of the boots. The second version, shown here, has a small nipple in the center of that circle and only one buckle on the boot. The head sculpts are also different on both versions: version one has a softer sculpt of the wire coil on the back of the head, while version two sports a more detailed sculpt.



The B-Wing Pilot came with the Endor blaster.

I was not aware of the variations on this figure I will have to check the one I have.

I always found this figure odd with the shape of head. Always thought it looked like a football.

Wonder if there are any B-Wing Pilot troop builders?  :P

Just picked up a B-Wing Pilot last Sunday at a con that was thrown into a huge vintage lot I bought.

This is my second one I have..my B-Wing troop building has begun. ;D

I'm looking forward to the Bridgeview (IL) ToyCon Show on the 9th to see what I can pick up there. Does anyone have the other variation that they can put a photo up of?

That's the first variation of the figure with no center nipple and buckles on both of his shoes.
