I know this isn't one of Spice's favorite areas to collect but it's definately one of mine.

My question is this. If Hasbro was going to come out with a new line of 12" figs which ones would you like to see? There are so many that were never made.
You could also use this thread to tell us which beasts you would like to have Hasbro make. There are a lot of these that have never been made.

Personally a more sculpted line of the original characters (Luke, Leia, Han etc) , ala SS but with a closer likeness , attention to detail and articulation more so.

But with SS taking the reins on 12", it would be hard to go back to Hasbro.....

My thoughts exactly. If Hasbro did decide to get back into the game of 12" figures, they would have to do a hell of a lot better than what they've done. Don't get me wrong, I've got 99% of the Hasbro 12" stuff. I was a big fan. I didn't like too many of them, and that was back when I had nothing to compare them to. Now that we've got the Sideshow stuff, I don't think Hasbro would even venture back into the game. Then again, you're comparing a $20 figure with a $50 - $60 figure.

That said, if Hasbro were to get back into selling 12" figures, I'd pretty much like to see them just keep going with figures that haven't been released yet. That was one good thing about the 12" line - no rehashes (outside of a few box sets).

I don't know if Hasbro can get back into the 12" arena. I'm guessing SS has some sort of multi-year agreement with LFL to produce the 12" line but I have no idea how long the agreement is for.

I can't see SS letting go of the line anytime soon either. It's been a solid money-maker for them and looks to continue to be so for a while.

Man i would love to see a galactic marine or a airborne trooper or i would love too see a arc trooper or even quilan vos made into a 12" just like they did with the ROTS line and i think the line should be called "the tac 12 figures" that would be really cool.

I dont if they would do another commander neyo cause since they already did one back in 05, but then again if they were to add a barc speeder that might be interesting to see a 12" made.

I also have most of the Hasbro 12" stuff. At the time I thought it was pretty good...until SS. Now I would like the 12" line to stay out of Hasbro's hands for good, at least that is what my stoned ROTS 12" Palpatine tells me.

I got alot out of this site, which says alot of what neyos markings are so my 12" is a neyo grunt IMO so thats what i am sticking too.

As long SS has the license, Hasbro will not be involved.
Also, it ehy could not make a better or close to SS, there would be no point in taking the line over.
I have most the 12 line as well. I picked up some of SS line, but price tag has kept me from buying more.

Lets be honest, Hasbro only cares about making the most product by the cheapest standards possible for maximum profit.
I have every 12" fig by Kenner/ Hasbro and most of SS. compare any SS to a Hasbro for quality & detail & production scale.
Just look at the value of any 12" fig made 96-05 by Hasbro, only a few held value or increased while most are almost worthless.
SS production scale is much smaller and with exclusives even less it really gives a collector an option to have pieces that aren't
over produced and in every major retailer all over the planet. I wish Master Lucas would make all Star Wars products to be made in America.

Figures I would love to have:

12" figs from video games like TFU 1 & 2 , Battlefronts, KOTOR etc..
12" Elite Troopers either Republic or Empire Commandoes, Commanders, Special forces, Jet Troopers, etc.
12" elec. Jett Porkins audio of all lines including scream, comes with giant burger, fries & big gulp

Don't get me wrong.I love SS 12 inch figures.The problem is they are so dang expensive.I only have 4 to my collection Leia,Darth Maul,Luke Jedi and 501st clone trooper.They are very pricey.

Today at the panel a new line of 12" figures by Hasbro was announced. All of the figures will have a minimal 5 points of articulation and will be released in the 2013 line look (not a Vintage look). A Phase I Clone Trooper was pictured on one of the slides. Also coming in the first wave are: Episode III Anakin, Episode III Obi-Wan, and Darth Vader.

Can Hasbro compete of keep up with SS or HTS? Hasbro does so much over production & I have little faith in them.
I have all of the older Hasbro 12 line & they are crap in comparison. You get what you pay for?
I would like to inspect them 1st? How much did Hasbro hike the prices? $50 for a 12 fig?!

I see dealers loaded with the previously 12" rubish. Are they going to put quality out on these? I stopped with the GG junk already. The SS is nice put overpriced IMO so I collect sparingly.

Number 2 is the most important. Will they be priced out of the market before they hit the stores?

SS 12" figures have their own problems and are getting more expensive every day. I have all the OT Imperials and troopers figures from SS, and have to say that they are far from perfect alas...

I have always been Hardcore into the 12 inch lines & I have serious doubts.
I remember VIVIDLY tracking down ALL the Hasbro 12 in stuff from 96-05
I had to have them ALL?! I wasted so much time & money tracking them down.
Every F-ing retailer had exclusives?! Walmt, Target, Tru, Service Merchandise, Kmart, J.C.Pennys, FAO Schwartz & more?
Add European Masturbating figs & even the 2 Australlian Plo Kloons.
NONE are worth SXXT!! Too OVERPRODUCED & SS, HTYS destroyed Hasbro 12 lines value when they started making
a actual limited # whether SS Exclusive or not? 10000000000000 are not produced of each fig & limited #'s are a good thing.
I expect FAILURE!! I think Helen Keller could see it.

Horrible.
This is how I figured it went down.

Disney: "We need to start making our money back from the Lucasfilm purchase."

Hasbro: " We can start a new line of action figures. The collectors seem to love those."

Disney: "No. We have the 6" black line coming out that will make us enough money on that end."

Hasbro: "How about if we concentrate on the 12" line? Those were popular back in the day."

Disney: "Great idea. Make them as cheap as possible and we can still charge an arm and a leg for them."

Hasbro: "OK. Should we slowdown on the Fighter Pods and Angry Birds lines?"

Disney: Are you kidding me!?! Those SW collectors will buy anything. Let's just give them a little at a time, but not what they want.
Now get to work on that 12" line and get them to the shelves as soon as possible."

Finally saw them up close and personal today at a Super Target.
Boy are they HORRIBLE! A fan on FB said it best. He said they look like shampoo bottles.

I saw them... 1st off they were the Legos & not with other figures? They look awful.
I mean pathetic...It is like they were 9 inches big & stretched out to make 12 inches.
The bodies are to thin & Anakin looks like he is trying to fart without a leak? Paint is awful.
Articulation & sculpts are just ugly & lack detail & molds are inaccurate. Do not look human or close.
The packaging has all but disappeared & Hasbro really wants to make sure SS & HTS will have complete dominance in this market.
Price is $19.99 & if they were 2 for $5? I might buy 2 Clones? but that Anakin? Hasbro should be called on this crap.
The quality & detail... Hasbro just gave up. I passed on them & these are 1st 12 inch figs I have ever looked at & put back on shelf.
Thanks Hasbro.. you seem to find new ways to disappoint me. at least I will not be buying any of these. It is a matter of pride to me.

Newer looking 12" sucks. The older version were much better figures than now. What the H*ll is going on HASBRO?
