GEARS OF WAR: THE MOVIE

As most of you know New Line will be making a Gears of War movie and Cliffy B will be the producer to make sure that it stays true to the game. Cliffy is one of those people who believes that games should be turned into movies unless they really will kick ass on the big screen. I have high hopes for this one and I think if they get the right cast it could be the first real awesome movie based on game. Now we just need Peter Jackson to get started on Halo and a God of War movie!

Also, if you had total control of the movie who would you have work on the film? Who would be your director? Who would you cast? I'm curious what you guys think. Do some research and post who you want to play all the guys who make it happen in Gears.

I picked my cast not all the way on looks because it's Hollywood and they can make you look however they want. But I picked them on their acting skills and how I imagined them as that character. I think all the people I picked would be perfect the characters and would make Gears not only a succesful game to movie but just a great movie in itself. Also I chose Zack Snyder as the director because he's done for me what Peter Jackson did to LOTR and that's bring a great book and turn it into a great film. I think Zack Snyder is the best man for the job here as well. I think the way he did the violence in 300 is perfect for what he could do with Gears. Like I said before, Gears is one of my all time favorite games and I feel passionate about this project because I want it to succeed.

I agree with you totally. I think this os one of those movies you don't need every HUGE star in HW to pull off. The right cast can make things work big time just look at LOTR.

I actually believe alot of times it's best not to get the huge stars. LOTR and 300 are perfect examples, basically unknowns who were born to play those roles. Hopefully we'll see this thing happen and it will be done right!

I heard bout this being turned into a movie, but i havnt played the game cause i dont have a xbox so i wouldnt know much bout the game other then i seen pics on game informer and they liked it and video on gamehead that comes on spiketv as well and if i had a xbox i would be playin the hell out of this game cause it really does rock as much as the video i seen and all the comments that game informer and gamehead said that it did.For this game being turned into a movie it will be something to see that but as for the god of war know thats something i do know bout.That would be a really cool movie turned from game.

Megadeth did the song for the game which was really well done for the game. I hope the song ends up in the movie as well because the Megadeth song "Gears of War" is awesome. If anyone hasn't heard it you need too. (hooray)

Woo hoo, Clive Owen and josh Holloway!!!! I loved th game, but I doubt a movie would be very good. At least Uwe Boll isn't involved.

Actually the actors themselves are good actors, and look very much the part without any make up already.
