Remakes of old figs
« on: July 21, 2006, 12:36:21 PM »
What we need is like a super articulated Darth Maul! Better then the EP1 version. That's what I really want re-done.

Who REALLY needs a remake is TPM Anakin, Jar Jar, Qui-Gon, and Obi-Wan.

Also:

AOTC
Padme (arena)
Anakin (Evo might work)
Obi-Wan
Jango

ROTS
Mace
Obi-Wan (Mustafar)
Anakin (Mustafar)
Grievous (proper scale and paint)

Do it Hasbro.  Do it.  Do it.

I agree that Qui Gon is in need of an update as well as Barris Offee, and possibly jango some SA action is in order!
As for old figs needing this treatment would be Lumat, Paloo, Romba, Warok, Death Star Trooper/Death Squad Commander, and Tessek.

I personally feel that any figure still in the old POTF format that has not already been updated should be a candidate.

Not any.  But I really think Hasbro needs to FOCUS on main characters.

I'm all for remakes if they are remaking a figure that sucked and actually doing a better job of it. I think the biggest remake figure we need right now is a new Super Articulated Qui-Gon Jinn. It's been a few years since they released a QGJ figure, and they have yet (IMO) to release a good one. Every QGJ figure that I have sucks hard.

BLASPHEMY!!

Prequel figures DO NOT BELONG in the Vintage line. Hence the name, VINTAGE.

Now, if they can come up with a similar concept for the Prequel Trilogy, I'm all for it.

Agreed! What gets me is everyone thinks "Vintage" treatment is so great well some of the basic figures are getting the same treament, just not the "Vintage" card with case. So my opinion no prequel figures in this line this is meant for nastalgia of the OT line only! I believe an SA QGJ would be fine in the basic line.

I think there's a LOT more than that Hasbro needs to redo. Basically, take every figure that's been made so far - if it doesn't have ball jointed head/shoulders/elbows/hips/knees/ankles - add it to the list.
