I am probably spelling it wrong, not real dolphins, but they do call the dorado a dolfin too. I think.

Those are some nice looking trout. We don't get any that nice locally.

I thought it was kind of funny, yesterday one of my fishing buds came by my office and brought by his
brand new 2-speed reel. Last year on our company trip there 3 of us, me included that kicked ass on an open bite. And it because we had two speed reels. So on the way back, a bunch of guys were saying they were  gonna buy one. Well this guy did. Anyway, after he got showing his reel to myself and a coworker. The coworker decides he gotta keep up with the rest of us, and is going to buy a two speed reel. And these things ain't cheap.

Below is a link to the one that I got.
http://www.statesidetackle.com/products/penn/pages/15kg.htm
A two speed reel is a fishing reel that has an extra gear. Kinda like having a 10-speed bike
for going up hill. This extra gear allows you to either reel the fish in faster in a wide open bite, making it possible to catch more fish or if you got a large fish, it makes it easier to reel.

RJP and I went fishing out Santa Barbara today. It sucked.  :(
The conditions were bad, the boat was full, not much one can do
when the odds add up. She only caught (3) small fish, nothing worth keeping.
And I only caught two. One was a 36" long Barracuda, so I kept him
and will smoke him at my next cook-out.

check out the reel. sweet. didnt even know they made one like that. lets just say the headboats I have went out on here on the eastern shore dont have those. sorry about your rotten fishing luck. guess thats why they call it fishing and not catching. I havent had a chance to go this weekend. want to perhaps go out tomorrow for some more largemouth fishing. will post a pic if I catch something in the four lbs or better range. hey where is the pic of the cuda?

I keep forgetting to bring a camera. I've done that on my last three times out.
When I go in couple of weeks, I'll be sure to pre-pack one.

Thanks for the well wishing. I hope so too.
Barracuda put up a decent fight. They are long skinny fish and throw their body around, so
it is visually pleasing to watch. It took less then 10 minutes to bring, but I was satisfied with
the effort.  As for eating, they are a very oily and smell fishy. I enjoy putting their fillets on the grill and
watching them shrink more than eating. However, I am going to try and smoke it this next time
around. I'll probably add, some cumin spice, steak seasoning and diced jalepeno to kill some of that fishy
smell. I'll llet you know how it turns out.

Never caught any bluefish. So I wouldn't know how to compare them
I only heard about thier last year from Nick@TheJAWA who goes after them.

I started packing today for this coming weekend trip. I normally do it this so I don't forget
anything important. Once you get out at sea, you can't go back to get whatever you forgot.

I've been keeping up with the fishing report sand up until yesterday, it wasn't looking too promising.
But yesterday (3) boats doing  1 1/2 day and 2 day trips came back with limits on more than 1 type of
fish. I am hoping we will have the same luck.

nope, fence. dont think I have that kind of pull around here yet. maybe they want to see some new fish pictures around here too. hope your luck holds. I went fishing the other evening, 1 bass around 4 lbs. was the only fish of note. caught it behind the beauty saloon my wife was getting her hair cut at. she said something about needing a new haircut because she didnt want to look too fat. where did that come from?

In fact, you should be thanking me. For one you got to go fishing. Two, she'll be saving you a little bit of cash because she wont be eating as much. And three, you got a new head of hair to look at during the bump and grind.

Fence, are you sure we are not related? you think way too much like me for it to be mere coincidence. good luck with the fish, stay away from any baithands that dont look like the one in the previous post (I never saw a baithand like that one in the bikini). did you remember to pack the digital camera this time?

Well, I'm back. And I can honestly say, that the trip sucked.
I only caught (1) fish the whole trip and it was a Skip Jack. Which might
as well been nothing.
The fishing out in this area has been down this year, so I may have to call it a year, and
wait until next sea.son
