Can we ask them if we are going to get an ATTE?

That has already been a question presented to Hasbro in the past few weeks.  I forget which site asked it, but it was already submitted.

Start your questions now for the next submission Troops. Thinking

and was the answer yes hopefully? Huh

LOL, I'll give you three guesses Tamer as to what the answer was, and the first two don't count.

Need a hint?  See above.

I've got a question:

Why is that we had to pay $10+ for the VOTC (and currently the VTSC) - which I was told by a Hasbro rep at C3 was because of the added articulation and extra work that went into these figures - but suddenly we get a Sandtrooper for $5.99 (or so depending on where you shop) that is basically the VOTC Stormtrooper, but with extra added bits, paint and accessories? Does that make any sense to anyone?

I know everyone's been asking about EU characters, but what about deleted scenes characters?  I'd love to add a Camie, Fixer, and Biggs from the Tosche station to my collection.  Maybe we could also get the girl that Han was flirting with in the cantina before Luke and Obi-Wan interrupted.

We did ask about Bai Ling last week and were pretty much told no plans for the cut scenes figures.

Q: Why were people allowed to buy the 501st figure at the SD Comic-Con by the case, and why was service so bad at your web site that you were unable to handle the web traffic and people spent upwards of an hour with the product in their shopping cart but were unable to checkout. Will there be another, more organized opportunity, for people to buy this exclusive figure in the near future?

Since you gave us Sora Bulq in the Saga Collection do you have plans to deepen the Jedi ranks such as Bultar Swan, Roth-Del Masona, Tarados Gon, Joclad Danva, or any of the background Jedi?

Now that Comic Con is over are we going to get an AT-TE or NOT?   Hopefully we do pretty please! Pray

Do you have any plans to release Female Imperial Officers, or is the Empire non equal rights Grin I know there's quite a big interest?

Do you have plans for the correct Commander Neyo?

Do your Expanded Universe ideas include this clone assassain?                          Or Commander Faie?

Here are the questions they couldn't get to before Comic-Con the answers just came in today!

1) Q: What details can you tell us about the planned television series - which known and unknown characters will be in it?

A: We won't be able to talk about the series for a long time yet, and then we'll let Lucasfilm lead the charge with news.

2) Q: The Jedi Master Points auction still left quite a few collectors empty handed.  Is there another project to look forward to for turning in our thousands of Jedi Master Points?

A: Excellent question and one that we need a little more info on.  Did collectors toss out Jedi Master Points after the auction, or keep them?   We don't want to upset those collectors who thought that there would never be a use for them and tossed them away.  Can you dig a little deeper for us on this by questioning your readers on what they did with their points?

3) Q: I don't collect sports cards but do know how they are sold and how popular some lines of cards are.  There are some sports cards that come packaged randomly with small 1" squares of a baseball bat or a game worn jersey or something along those lines to make the cards rare/popular.  I also realize that Mr. Lucas is tight with letting his original props get out.  But is there any chance that Hasbro and George Lucas would do a promotion similar to the sports cards that I mentioned above?  Maybe have the packaging of the figures hide a small piece from a shirt or pants or even a "You Win" piece that the winner would send in for a prop of some kind; just something different that the Star Wars collectors could look to get in their collections.

A: We have looked at the "movie used" concept and just don't think we can make it work.  Mostly, it comes down to the scarcity of genuine props and the desire to preserve them rather than sacrifice them for this idea. Lucasfilm has been going the other way...making artifacts available for museum viewing so all can enjoy.  Interesting idea though!

4) Q: I realize that the 7" Unleashed line is limited and somewhat at a standstill, but if the line gets going strong again, is there any chance of maybe seeing an Expanded Universe sculpt such as Mara Jade or even Thrawn?

A: There's a lot of "what ifs" to be solved before going there….we'd rather see how the current 7" exclusives do before commiting to anything more specific on the future of 7".

All I have to say is I still have my darned jedi points waiting to use them on something.  However if Hasbro can come up with another mail-in that would be pretty tight.

Hasbro do you think you could offer up figures and/or titanium ship mail in?  Plus I want the clone assasins and the correct neyo as well.

I want to know what hasbro is going to do to ensure that the new 30th anniversary cards show up to the stores in good shape as they look like they could really get dinged up fairly easily and are there any plans to make cases early for these to make sure they dont get dinged up once we buy em?

2. Can they rerelease the AOTC saga clone pilot with the full helmet?

3. ATTE?

I kept all my points also. I do remember them saying that the auction shaffle was the one and only time you could use them Jedi Master Points. And I said to Spice around that time "I bet Hasbro will do something really cool down the road for the people that didn't waste there points on the shaffle" and sure enough there is some hope. Cheesy I would like Hasbro to offer up maybe the Lucas family collection or other Starwarsshop.com exclusive figures for the points. Kaman Hasbro! We gota deal with all the rehashing bogus all the time, hook us collectors up that held on to our JMP. Grin

My question for the next round.

With the 30th anniversary next year, the majority of the figures released will be from A New Hope. Will these figures be new sculpts, or simply re-released figures from years past. Will there be more creatures/aliens from the Cantina made?

While not exactly as I worded it (I think you left out an expletive or two ;P) I'm glad you asked this question, and the answer is pretty interesting. I honestly thought we'd get a "no" and that would be it. I think we should a little informal pool here for a follow-up question on this.

Of course, since I asked in the first place, I'm sure you can guess that I still have around 8,000 points sitting in a shoe box.

I finally found the question and answer from hasbro for the ATTE. As you will see they did not answer the question per se. Well I will post this and let you decide for yourself.

I combined all questions that asked "will you make __ ?" into the following:
Figures - Quinlan Vos, Padme, Tonnika Sisters, EU characters, Death Star II Luke, Hermi Odle, Animated style, army builder packs
Vehicles - Cloud Car, AT-TE, Sith Infiltrator
Modular Playsets - Tantive IV, Death Star, curved Cantina bar section

Of course there are many more such question. Not sure if you can even answer these, but the bottom line is fans want to see more female figures, EU figures, and new vehicles and diorama/playsets. But you probably knew that. Smiley

Hasbro: In response to your question about EU figures -- there are a lot of great characters created in the EU and we plan to include some of these for 2007. And, in regards to playsets/dioramas: as the saying goes, "great minds think alike." There has been a lot of discussion internally on whether this could be successful in today's market. However, we continue to see diminished demand for playsets. If we ever see the landscape changing, it's something we could take a look at in the future.

Not really and answer as far as I can tell. So could we ask it again specifically on the ATTE and nothing else with it? If they say wait and see we will take that as a yes!

I also found an update to this question too.

Why are many much-desired items (Darth Maul's Sith Infiltrator, the AT-TE and Twin Pod Cloud Car, Playsets etc.) passed over in favor of a ton of new Star Wars lines like Attacktix, Unleashed Battle Packs, Galactic Heroes, Jedi Force, Force Battlers, Mr. Potato Heads, Star Wars Transformers, Star Wars Customs, Star Wars Miniatures? In the past, it's been said that producing things such as are not cost-effective for today's market, but that hardly seems logical.

Hasbro: We look to products that will produce the greatest return on our resource investment. Vehicles and figures are more popular play patterns for the kid audience than playsets, and the lines you referenced are squarely kid-targeted. We are looking to introduce some new 3-3/4” vehicles next year (and re-introduce some high demand ones this Fall).

Once again vague, but they are open to it it seems. I guess we will have to nail them down and maybe ask a question like. With the popularity of the Titanium atte, will there be any plans to make a full 3 and 3/4 inch version of this vehicle. And can one be made that has Tamer rules embossed on the rearend of this vehicle once it has been made? Ok, just joshing about that last part kind of, but man I would love to see this vehicle get made!

Here's something else I'd like to know why don't they have a better distribution of the gunship? I only saw the AOTC version once and was broke at the time and had to pass, when I came back of course it was gone. For CW I never found one and ebay prices are ridiculas. ROTS I only saw once at midnight madness and bought one. The CW TRU Exclusive someone was able to pick one up for me, but I only spotted it once however at $45 and the paint sceme makes it a one time purchase item anyways. Why so scimpy on the avaiability of the Gunship? Couldn't they re-release the AOTC or ROTS version or even different repaints in the Saga or 30th annv. packaging for the $29.99 price tag?

Tamer, I'm sure that the AT-TE will get made soon. If hasbro has made anything clear lately, it's they try to fill the demand for stuff. I would guess within the next year or two we will have a AT-TE. I never thought we would have such a great line up at the end of the year but we are so anything is possible.

I do have a question and that is:

How much longer will the vintage figures continue to be released? And are there any plans on making them with coins?

I still have my Jedi Master Points.  I think Habro should just treat them like proof of purchases and let us mail them in with the leftover POPs from POTF2, ROTS, Saga, Saga2, etc. lines for mail-away offers.  I don't think it's unreasonable for me to expect Hasbro to offer me some kind of reward for all of the figures I bought duplicates of over the years so I could keep one carded and display the other.  I've got a bunch of empty cards and the only chance I had to redeem the JMPs was on a crazy auction that was difficult to keep up with.  Prior to that, I think the POPs were only good for a slide viewer and the EP1 sneak peek Mace Windu.  Does anyone else remember the good old Kenner days when just about every year there was something (usually a figure) to mail away for?  Back then the POPs were all the same and didn't change every year, so you could even use 12-back POPs for ROTJ mail-ins.

1: Why would Hasbro not give Quinlan Vos the Fans Choice figure on card like he deserves? Shouldn't the #1 vote get the figure on that particular card? Fans voted him in and giving it to Darth Revan seems like Master Vos is getting short-changed, since Hasbro has such a history with repacks, why did Quin get jobbed?

Because Quinlan Vos was already in production for the comic 2-pack series. To take him out would have left an unfilled void in that series.  Because we wanted to be straight up with fans that he was the #1 winner, we also wanted to be straight up about why we went to the #2 for basic figures.  We look at it this way: it means more of the Top 25 figures will be done next year, which is a good thing.

2: I have reason to believe many collectors DID hang on to their Jedi Points, would Hasbro be willing to explore a poll or gauge an interest on their Star Wars Hasbro page?

Yes, we might look at a poll, but the question is really the opposite.  The key question is this....did some fans discard their Jedi Master points because they thought they would never be used again?  If so, then doing something with them now would upset those fans and it would be best to just abandon the idea of using points for good.

3: Why were people allowed to buy the 501st figure at the SD Comic-Con by the case, and why was service so bad at your web site that you were unable to handle the web traffic and people spent upwards of an hour with the product in their shopping cart but were unable to checkout. Will there be another, more organized opportunity, for people to buy this exclusive figure in the near future?

Without knowing the details, it's possible that what you were seeing was collectors using more than 1 badge, or simply using the empty boxes as a sturdy way to transport figures.  We did confirm with our HasbroToyShop team that there was a limit of 5 for the duration of the convention.  As for the web delays, the unfortunate issue was with Verizon servers going down that day.  The good news is that there are more 501st figures (and Titanium) available to consumers and they will go back on HasbroToyShop.com Friday Aug 4th.  So....spread the word!
