If you bought the 40 pack of figure stands for $9.99 from Hasbro Toy Shop, it came with a sheet of 200 name stickers. Quite a few people has been asking Hasbro to either a) create a new pack with new stickers, or b) just create a new sticker sheet with updated names, so that people who already own the stands can buy the new stickers.

IMO they won't do either. Because they are like that.

Dear Hasbro,
You have given us a great number of EU figures this year with many more to come we hope in the years ahead.  Is there going to be a change to the figure stand packs to include more EU stands?  Two EU stands per pack just doesn't even come close to cutting it.  Or, can there be a way to order just a pack of EU or just a pack of New Hope stands?

Dear Hasbro,

It would seem that you have made every color scheme for the IG-100 Magna Guard except the EU Black version, and the movie Alabaster Blue version.  Will we eventually see these?

Dear Hasbro,
The coin album you put out at the begining of the year is really nice but could you give a list of the 20 coins that were intended to fill the last, unnumbered page?

I personally am guessing they are supposed to be the 3 convention coins, McQuarrie Luke, Obi-Wan/Yoda, R2-D2/C-3PO, Concept Grievous, the 7 saga legends coins and the 6 vintage coins but I just want to know if hasbro is planning on releasing anymore coins.

I also have to admit that I have not read all of the recent Q&A's so if this has already been answered please ignore it

Those WalMart packs are scheduled for '08 I believe. I doubt we will see those this year. And considering that this year is 31 days from being over, I'm guessing that WalMart won't have any exclusives coming.

Dear Hasbro,
Looking at some of the figures of minor characters that were made years ago, I started to think about how cool they could be if some of them were brought up to today's standards. Some examples that come to mind are Boshek, Tessek, Adi Gallia, Takeel, Dr. Evazan, Prune Face and Ree-Yees. Most of these figures looked nice in their day, but they just don't hold up to today's standards anymore. I understand that remakes of minor background characters can't happen very often, but I'm wondering who, if any, is one minor character that the Hasbro team would really like to have another shot at?

Dear Hasbro, I must say I am really looking forward to all the different color stormtroopers coming in the Force Unleashed Waves.  It would seem we have 7 coming (including the Shadow Guard), but it seems one has been left out.  I am talking about the yellow marked one seen in TFU pre-vis demo.  Will this one see plastic?

I don't know what Hasbro did but I sent this set before the extended break:

: Have you ever considered making Clone Trooper/Stormtrooper/etc. figures with two separate heads - one helmeted and one without the helmet - instead of creating the currently "removable" helmets that just don't seem to fit right? They usually look a little... off... when I put the helmets on. They either don't come down far enough and the figures chin sticks out, or they come down too far and sit on the shoulders of the figure. Not to mention that they are very snug and almost always (99% of the time) pull the head off the neck post when you remove the helmet.
And why can't the ball joints on the figures necks all be a "universal" size? Why are some bigger than others? You must know that a ton of people love to customize Star Wars figures (and buy plenty of extras to do so) and making the ball joints on the necks universal would save a lot of people a lot of work. Making a head swap on an X-Wing pilot or Clone or Stormtrooper figure would be so much easier.

2: With the new ball-jointed wrists that have been shown on the 08 Commander Gree figure samples, can we expect to see more figures coming with this added articulation?

3: Do you know why http://hasbrotoyshop.com no longer has the star wars cases for the carded figures available? I like that style and the cost wasn't too bad. Plus that's what I started out using, and I'd like to keep it the same.

We'll put some new ones and maybe we'll see a double batch on the next round but I can't say for sure!

That's rather uncool of them. Ya know whenever I check the "Round Up" report at RS, it seems as if we're the ONLY site that occassionally gets left out. I'm sure we're not but, it feels that way sometimes.

On to Questions...

1.
Hasbro,

Why is it that us here at www.sandtroopers.com, the greatest fan site in existence!, are always the bastard children that get left out of your Q&A? I know a time or two it has been our own fault for submitting the questions late but seriously!

2. (The actual serious question...)
Hasbro,

In a recent thread on our site I mentioned that a dream figure for me would be a remake of the shirtless training Darth Maul in a super articulated format. Another member mentioned that that figure was scheduled for release in the new Sith Evolutions set. I had totally forgotten about that! I was so focused on the Mandalorian Evolutions set that I spaced the others off. So here's my question... it's almost 2008. The 3 new Evolutions sets (Mandalorian, Sith and Jedi) are already announced and confirmed by you. Any chance we can get some more/better pictures of these figures? Include what all accessories will be included, confirm the SA and removeable helmet status of Jango? Clearer pix of Mandalore, Nihl, Bane (does that silly glow in the dark helmet come off? How about Boba? He looks a little rotund, maybe too much uj cake or does his chest armor come off? I'd love to see some updated pix, maybe even packaged if available.

Thanks for taking the time to consider and answer our questions!

Dear Hasbro, the first pictures of the Force Unleashed commemorative collection sets have surfaced and it seems that the Emperor Palpatine figure is a straight repack from the 2005 Evolutions set.  I really like this version in terms of sculpt and articulation but the color of his skin is wrong again. Is there any chance that we’re getting a color corrected - ghostly white - variant of that figure since a lot of collectors are desperate for a SA movie (and game) accurate Emperor Palpatine.

Has Katarn actually been confirmed by Hasbro?

No.

Quote
Asked by Jedi Defender on 8/17/07:

Q: With the popularity of the Force Unleashed figures rising, have you considered taking a look at another character-rich video game from the past, Jedi Knight? The Dark Trooper is obviously being asked for again, but a new Kyle Katarn, Jerec, or Jan Ors would be nice too.

A: We are not looking at the Jedi Knight game right now, but Katarn is a major EU character so he is more likely to appear in some form first. Jerec is a very interesting character and if we can figure out how to fit him in sometime, he would be a good one to do down the road.

"Katarn is a major EU character so he is more likely to appear in some form first" does not translate to "Yes, we are making a new Kyle Katarn figure" in my book.

Oh, I'm sure they will, at some point, revisit Katarn and (hopefully) make a better version of him than the one that was released already. I was just trying to point out that it has not been confirmed at this point in time.

If someone could question Hasbro about the possible release of a Millennium Falcon next year, and word it such that they don’t get all riled up about the rumors posted on the rebelscum site, I’d really like to know if a “retooled” version means they will be using the same basic 1978-ish mold or if we will finally get a 21st century version with a cockpit for four.

I just hope they don’t say how big and expensive a version like this would be.

Thanks

Well, I'm sure that at this point, they won't be revealing any of that kind of info. Toy Fair is less than 2 months away, and I'm sure that we'll either see something at Toy Fair in February, or if possible I can corner one of the reps at the Hasbro booth and ask questions like I did last year.

THE Latest:

1) Looking at some of the figures of minor characters that were made years ago, I started to think about how cool they could be if some of them were brought up to today's standards.

Great question.  As we have produced "definitive" versions of many such backgrounders lately and added them to our shelf displays, we, like you, have noticed that many of these old-timers, while great in their day, do look a little soft around the edges.  We would say that of the seven figures you single out, we have plans to update three of them over the next couple of years, and will probably get to a couple more of them as well before too much longer.  Of the remaining ones, it's unlikely that we'll update Boshek or Takeel for a looong time, if ever, since we would be more likely to spend that "slot" in the lineup on a new Cantina figure.

2) In a recent thread on our site I mentioned that a dream figure for me would be a remake of the shirtless training Darth Maul in a super articulated format.

We are glad you asked, and will share what we have. Four pics are attached - three higher-res pics of the same images we showed at Comic Con.  These are all of the pics we have available as of yet, but the sets are shipping soon so more images will be hitting.  Also, there is a more detailed rundown in this month's copy of Lee's Toy Review (#182) with The Sith legacy set on the cover.  As far as accessories go, all of the accessories that come with the figures are shown.  This is important for collectors toknow, since there won't be as much extra stuff as the last line, except for the three reissues which will be the same as before.  The new sets will not have all of the extra gear, and the explanation is simple....as we looked at the components, we felt we added the accessories that the characters would need and that we could afford to add while not compromising the articulation, soft goods and deco on the figures themselves.  As our costs have risen since we last did Evolutions in 2005, trading out extra pieces to deliver high quality figures was the right one.  As for the details you asked about, we can confirm that Bane's mask is removable.  Regarding Jango, we can confirm that he is SA with swivel articulation at wrists/forearms, ball & socket elbows, swivel upper arms, ball & socket shoulders, ball neck, ball & socket waist, swivel hips, ball & socket  knees, and ball & socket feet.  And his helmet is removable. Wow!  Boba looks great in person, his armor is not removable.  We can also confirm that there will be one more special surprise set in this wave....centered around The Force Unleashed.  Look for more information on that after the new year.

3) Will Canada be getting any figures from the TAC line past wave 5 or have we seen it all up North. One of the  sites said they would not be getting wave 6 on CDN card, so does that also mean we wont be getting anything past wave 6 at Canadian retail?

We have confirmed with our Canadian pals that all waves are indeed planned to be dsitributed with the Canada-exclusive Vader-head packaging. According to the marketing team in Canada, it may take a while into Spring before they all make it out but that is the plan as of now.  Good news!
