I did not get the lighting kit, I think they are halogen and they get too hot as far as i am concerned. I picked up at Target last night some battery operated LED lights with double back tape on them. They are the size of the bust bases, so the are hidded below the center bust on each shelf. These give off a nice mood lighting look.....i'll try to get pics posted.
Halogen ligths at max being on for long periods can cause problems or damage items, but i did something on my display that might do the trick. I went to home depot and purchased some halogen ligths with a touch dimmer that has 3 ligthing settings. These are usually used under the kitchen cabinets. These are small round ligths, also buy a touch on dimmer they sell for that ligthing kit and PRESTO.
I got GG, Kotos and other things in my display.
I only turn those on to display what I have there but those are never left on for more than 10 or 20 minutes, also I ligth up on setting 2 of 3 which is not that high and dont heat up either. As I stated never leave those ligths on to much, a 10 or 20 minutes on just to show your stuff and it should do fine. But dont place any items too close to the bulb either. Look at my setup to get some ideas.

The ligths are brand Hamptom Bay and are sold for around $20.00 and the dimmer for those is around $20.00
