Here is an article I came across that made me laugh.  While I always believed I had too much time on my hands sometimes, it appears that there are others with so much it makes them dumb.  I would love to know where these people get off on telling a director, who like GL created the entire thing, that he made mistakes and is wrong.

Give it time....when King Kong or Harry Potter hits DVD, they'll be sure to overcome SWEpIII.

As far as goofs listings...I gotta disagree with you Pat.  I personally think it's fun, once you've seen a film several times, to go in and find the hidden goodies...the trivia, the shout-outs, and even the goofs....I guarantee GL knows about many goofs, and he leaves them in for the fans to find (heck, a whole character trait of the stormtroopers...tendency to hit their heads...was birthed by a goof).  Many pages like moviemistakes.com (and even the imdb.com goofs listing) aren't mean-spirited or mean, nor or they pointing out how not perfect GL is (cast ye out sinner, go back and correct, damn you!).  It's actually a sign of how many people love the film...they want to study it frame by frame...and when anything is held to that kind of scrutiny, mistakes are made...in every film.  It's less about superiority and more about having fun (and of course, there are those terrible exceptions that do make a mockery of everything GL).

As far as moviemistakes.com, it's viewer-driven, but they tend to weed out the "stupid people".  There was a mistake about how nobody on the planet could withstand the temperatures of Mustafar, considering their proximity to the lava-flow.  This was taken off, mainly because the guy was forgetting, uh, that this was science FICTION, and that the laws of earth don't apply.

There is some truth there also, E.  I read some of the "mistakes" and they had to be looking awful hard for some of them.  Personally, I like to put in a movie, and sit back and enjoy it.  I would think that if you're looking so hard for mistakes, you would have a hard time enjoying the actual movie.

That's my take on it too, a movie is suppose to be enjoyable. If you spend the whole movie analyzing it for mistakes, isn't it more like work?

There were only three mistakes made by Gearge Lucas.

1. Killing off Darth Maul in his first movie.

2. Substituting young Anakin for old Anakin at the end of ROTJ.

3. Last and most importantly-ONLY MAKING SIX STAR WARS MOVIES!
Light side, dark side, light side, dark side, light side, dark side. So many choices, so little time.

Pat, I love doing this, of course, but after the first ten times, I like going a little deeper.  For me, finding mistakes is a consequence of studying the shots, the effects, admiring the artistry and the tapestry of color...the real depth of the scope, the mise en scene...

Then again, I'm a bit of a film freak, so these things do interest me...I can understand why others would find no interest in it.

To each their own.  Some people are that way, I am not.  I don;t even like movies where you have to think!

I'll avoid recommending any Woody Allen to you in the near future, then. :)

Sure, a who dunnit or a suspensful thriller, but I'm talking about dramas or chick-like flicks.  Movies like JFK or the likes aren't my thing.  I like mindless comedies, horror movies (except Poltergeist.  We will NOT discuss this), thrillers, and action.

I can think of 3 reasons why everyone liked Revenge of the Sith the most:

1. You can see how it all connects to the original trilogy.
2. There's a lot of action in it.
3. I think people were anxious to see Darth Vader again.

There were so many moments of truth in Revenge of the Sith like when the helmet and mask are put on Anakin, then we hear the breathing.
