#68 an error?
« on: October 27, 2005, 04:11:05 PM »
I just picked up another #68 heavy gunner wookee -  and i just noticed the number on teh side says 64. So i looked at the R4-P17 and it also says 64. So is this an error that will be corrected, since on the back it is obviously #68? (also, the number on the back by the name on top says 64 also.

thoughts?

there are 3 variants on R4-p17
error number 68
Sticker cover 64 over 68
and the corrected 64
As for the #64 wookie it hassn't been corrected yet/or found atleast.

any ideas of which of the r4-p17 are harder to find - the 68 or the 64 sticker? the sticker is easy to tell, the 4 is different (thinner). the pics are nice.

id say number 68 would be the harder one to find since the 64sticker is a run on change, but i could be wrong i guess i would just need to see more of the cases.

much agreed Fox. But to awnser the question as to which is harder to find, I would say that both #68 and the Sticker 64 will be the difficult ones. The correctd version will be easiest in time.

I found the 68 error this morning and found the regular version for the R4 this afternoon. When I got mine a few weeks ago the regular versions were out. I didn't know that there was a sticker 64. I am starting to think they do this crap on purpose.

I picked up that R4 on Saturday and being an opener I opened it. After I opened it I finally discovered then remembered the #68 error and that was what I just opened. :o I do normaly keep them sort of figures on the cards, but once in a while one slips by. :banghead:

Dont feel bad Dan. Although I havent had the pleasure of finding the R4 yet, I did accidentally open an AT-TE driver that had two right hands. So much for that find. The cool thing is though, I'm using it for a custom I'm working on, so atleast it wont go completely to waste.

Just so I know what's going on, what's going on? I have #64 R4-P17, #68 Wookie. Aren't these the right numbers?

In short, yes they are.  Some of the R4-P17s were shipped with 68 on them...looks like they caught the error on some before shipping, and placed a "64" sticker over the number 68.  Still others are numbered correctly.  So, essentially, there are three versions of R4-P17....correct (64), incorrect (68), corrected by 64 sticker.

I was fortunate enough to find both the R4 and Wookiee with the correct numbers at Target last week.
