Fantastic 4

Last night I went out and saw Fantastic 4. I have to say first off that the previews did no justice to this movie. This movie rocked! Johnny Storm of course steals the movie. Love this character. This first movie of three sets up the characters and their powers, ect. This movie did not have any slow parts it just kept moving. Do not let all the bad reviews in the papers turn you away from seeing this movie. You will like it.

I was just about to say that it got horrible reviews.  I've seen one-star reviews from a number of media sources, so I'm going to wait it out until it comes to DVD.

As a rule of thumb, as soon as more than one media outlet gives a movie a bad review, I rush out to see it because critics suck.  All they care about is the latest piece of crap from Tom Hanks or Mel Gibson.  Artsy Fartsy gets good reviews while movies that are entertaining to a wider audience gets crap reviews.  As if Roger Ebert was ever a comics fan?  Remember, when Star Wars first came out, critics called it "Unimaginitive and Boring."  I for one LOVED the Fantastic 4.  I never followed that prticular comic, but know the story.  Much like Spider-Man, it followed very closely to the original storyline, but skewed just enough to bring it to current events, technology, and audience.  If they had tried to make the movie EXACTLY as it was first told in 1963, no one would be interested to see it.  If anyone has any reservations about this movie, go see it.  Especially if you enjoyed the Spider-Man movies or X-Men.

I just got home from seeing the 11:30 showing. Great movie. Definitely worth the price of admission.
The ending is a perfect setup for the next one.
Screw the critics. Their opinions mean as much to me as those of the terrorists.
My rule of thumb is---if roger ebert doesn't like it, it has to be good.
Thank George for his influence. The CGI effects are amazing.

Got a free ticket in the I-Robot deluxe DVD so me & the wife are going to check it out this weekend...its got to be at least worth $7.50 for both of us. From the looks of it The Human Torch does burn up the screen....pretty darn cool....hope they do Iceman like that in the next X-men movie.

I just watched it after work today, I have to say I liked it! Even though parts of it seemed like I saw the same stuff in another movie, it was well done.

I saw it and didn't think it was too Fantastic. I didn't like the Von Doom and I thought even at times Reed Richards was quite broke. The ending battle lacked and I can't see Dr. Doom coming with anything less than global disaster. He had a bazooka! Kaman!! I liked Torch and even the Thing who so much resembles our own Jimsjedi! HAHA OBSERVATION TIME!! Seriously, this flick was good, but I didn't leave the theater as I did with RotS or Batman Begins. Leaving going "Man that was a bad ass movie!" I didn't say that when I left the FF.

Don't turn into roger ebert. Pure comic book level fun with great CGI's mixed in. That's what it's all about. Fun. Fun. Fun. Anytime you get to see Jessica Alba in the buff it can't be a a bad thing. What did you expect from Doom?

A little more than a bazooka and nothing short of world domination. The metallic skin disorder didn't impress me either nor the actor who played him. Doom is supposed to be better than that. Ol' boy sucked.

If done right that would be VERY nice...if done wrong it would be the end of that movie franchise

Well, I read an article on the second FF movie and apparently Doom will make a re-appearance(big surprise), along with the Silver Surfer, whose casting list has been topped by the guy that played Hellboy(I'm no good with celebrity names). No mention of Galactus though. Personally, I thought Doom sucked big time in the first movie, he's way better in the comics.

Isn't the Silver Surfer supposed to be a good guy? I don't read the comics, but I used to watch the Fantastic Four cartoon when I was a kid and remember him being a good guy.  :-\

If memory serves correct Silver Surfer was a herald of Galactus, a main arch rival of the FF. I think the upside has to be they couldn't suck much worse than the 1st!

I never did see the original film, mainly because I heard it wasn't all that good. Of course it's gotta be somewhat good to see since Jessica Alba is in it.  8)

Silver Surfer was the Herald of Galactus, and decided that Earth should not be consumed, so he turned on his master and became a good guy.  The first one was actually pretty good, modernizing it just enough to stay current, and the 2nd looks to be even better.  Oh, and dustrho, you gotta see it just for the scene where Jessica Alba is in her undies.  Worth it right there!

That was the only reason I even watched it! :) Never been much of a FF4 fan so she was the only thing that really compelled me to see it, not that bad really.
The second one looks alot better though.

I saw this the other day. I know behind the times but it wasn't at the top of my netflix list when I made up the queue. I thought this was pretty good. I see yall talking about a second one that sounds pretty cool. They definitely left the 1st one open for more films.
