This is one figure I have to add to my collection, but I'm not too thrilled about this...

Taken from Starwars.com:
"The figure is expected to ship in October 2004, in celebration of the Star Wars Trilogy DVD. So they're basically saying that non-Hyperspace members are going to have hard time getting this then? Anyone that is already a members of the Star Was Insider should have this same ability of pre-ordering this before anyone who isn't a member of either. This is somewhat irritating, but because I don't want to miss out on this (and future Hyperspace member perks/exclusives) I'll probably end up signing up for Hyperspace.

cool figure, but it still won't get me to pay their high priced subscription fees, just to order a figure....it will end up like the Silver Fett and everyone who wants one, will be able to get one(I hope) sooner or later!

I'm not a fan club member, and I think that all of the BS w/ the Hyperlink thing being extra and all of the BS w/ the subscription to the insider too many people got screwed when there was the change over, so I refuse to be a member. Now that being said, I dont think that this will be HTF even as a exclusive. I dont see this being a big deal to get.

I think the figure is cool looking although a closer carded photo would have been nice, I'll add it to my collection just because, but unless you a member I don't think it's worth a subscription for a figure.

You put a carded photo out and a million guys have it for pre-sell on Ebay for $250. I think it's a real sneaky way to get guys in for the membership.

Hasbroke is always trying to suck our hard earned money, and this is obviously another bu11$h1t attempt at just that. Why can't we use our Master Points for something like this? They do it all the time for the G.I. Joe fans! I just recieved a Joe mail-away recently, points and a couple bucks and I have an exclusive Agent Faces in Crimson disguise. Why can't Hasbro do this for the Star Wars fans? I'm not fallin for this crap!

I'm amazed the Silver ST won't be at all the Wizard shows this summer. Silver Fett didn't sell? I thought I saw a line wrapped around the place all weekend? What gives? This OTC Exclusive will make or break swshop so I'm guessing there will be plenty.

Like Sandtrooper Dan, I beleive that this should be our 'Thank You' with JMP's.
After the debacle of the auctions we do need something to redeem these things on.
Being from the UK I have even less chance of seeing one at 'normal' price.

I'm not too excited over this figure either. They could have at least used the Saga Emperor sculpt rather than the old POTF2 version.

Also, yeah they have screwed us in the Fan Club over the years. I was a member when Wizards was in the charge of the Fan Club and signed up for a 2 year Fan Club membership/Insider subscription. When it was transferred to Paizo, they kicked up the issues to 8 a year and they based membership on issues. So I was then downgraded to a 1.5 year membership. I renewed under Paizo for a 1 year membership/8 issue subscription. Now Lucasfilm is in charge and is going back to 6 issues a year, and it looks like now I'm getting a 7 issue subscription (instead of

with NO FAN CLUB MEMBERSHIP benefits unless I tack on another year now! Frustrated with all of these companies to say the least! If I had to do it over again, I would wait until things get ironed out before joining. Hope this helps!

I just wonder if they will encase it in steel or something after this lastest fiasco with the Silver Sandtrooper. Again, if it's an exclusive figure, it needs to be in great shape, no questions. Since you are paying triple in most cases, they should guaran-damn-tee mint condition.

Just one more thing for the Scalpers to jack the price up on.

This is what irritates me about Hasbro. They say that they dont make toys for collectors, yet, why in the world do we have exclusive figures?? I dont get it. You've got the new Emperor, and the Battlegrounds Biker Scout, and we cant forget all the silver figures. I mean come on. Does anybody really believe that Hasbro doesnt make these for collectors.

Good point Trooper Larry! People don't really play with figures like a silver Boba Fett, they use the regular Fett. The exclusives are meant to be left in the package or put on display (most of them anyway).

I definately won't get that Holographic Emperor figure. The main reason is that a Hyperspace membership costs 50 bucks in Canada

and the next reason is that...no offense to anyone else but it looks weird. All you can really do with it is to display it, it doesn't really have any play value and it can be used in pretty much one diorama scene. I'd have to take a major pass on that.

Well here's the weird part. A friend of mine let's me use his Hyperspace password, so I can get all teh goodies without Lucas tapping my CC for more of my hard earned credits. The last two times that Hyperspace mebers were able to order things earlier than mere mortals( Silver Sandtrooper and Holo Emperor) it's just let me do it. I have no reason why. And I ain't arguing either.

Sorry its been awhile. The new Wife and I were on our honeymoon. I was happy to find that SWShop put the emperor up for everybody. I ordered mine, so we'll see what this one looks like. I dont want to have anymore problems like the Silver Sandtrooper.
