Looking For: My 1st Star Wars Buy
« on: September 06, 2012, 02:03:34 PM »
Although I loved Star Wars as a kid (saw it at the theatre before it was called "A New Hope") and despite my begging, my parents never got me the Star Wars toys I always asked for. Of course, they never bought me the horse I wanted either, but I figured Star Wars toys were something easier to care for. The reason: I was a girl and Star Wars were boy toys!

So about the time ROTJ came about, I was working at my dad's drug store and had a little income. Usually this went for my model horse collection or books or albums, but after seeing ROTJ with my best friend 7 times in a 10-day period, I decided to at least buy myself one figure, or my favorite character, Han.

So I hiked down to Murphy's downstairs toy section and picked out a Han Solo in Endor trench with coin.

This figure stayed on card. Not that I figured he'd be worth something later, but because I liked the card so much and the coin I didn't want to mess it up. It followed me through college, my first couple apartments and even when I moved to Michigan. I had picked up a few other things here and there - mainly comics and books, but a few figures too I can't remember exactly what they were - but I know I had at least one two-pack from K-B Toys. When I moved they all went with me.

After I got married, my husband persuaded me to dump my storage locker and just store everything in his parent's basement. It was cheaper -- but the very next sprint, it flooded, and I lost everything. My HS Diploma, my yearbooks -- and my Star Wars stuff. My model horses, luckily, were at my parents home.

So now that I have started collecting again (after selling all my model horses to help pay medical bills) and its been a few years and I have a decent collection, I have decided to try to find that Han Solo again. I just haven't found him. He was my first foray into the world of Star Wars collecting - the first thing I bought with my own money. He was always on the wall by my desk throughout college and on my bedroom wall in my apartments.

So, if anyone gets a lead on a carded Han Solo in Trechcoat with Coin from ROTJ at a decent price (I can't afford AFA graded, but would like it to be decent), please let me know!

I could swear he had a coin, but I may be deluding myself as ROTJ didn't have coins, right? Maybe that was a different figure I had. But I am deinitely looking for a Han in Trench

Oh! I cannot use Paypal or eBay, but am known here and in other forums quite well

No....I think I am thinking of another figure when I say coin. It was definitely the ROTJ card. I don't think it was the coin offer sticker either. I think I am just mixing up my figures in my mind. But I am looking or the ROTJ Han if you know of one for sale, preerably on card as good as can be for a decent price
