What was your most exciting moment at Celebration VI?
« on: August 31, 2012, 11:11:38 PM »
I thought it might be fun to hear what your most exciting moment was at CVI.
Tell us your story and let's see who's is the best.
After we receive a few I will tell you mine. It happened in the elevator at the Rosen hotel.
Spice, you know what it is so no tattling.

Mine was awarding James Arnold Taylor his Honorary Membership into The Jedi Assembly. In all the years I've been costuming, this is the first membership I've awarded. It really seemed to "define" me more or less.

Also a big moment for me was Daniel Logan officially christening me as "Jedimom" at the Meet the an Groups panel

THAT's so very cool JAT stopped by to do that.  You weren't the only lady Daniel was singing to that weekend!  ;)  We had a tough time keeping Daniel "Sheen" Lo-han within the perimeter, I'm sure you know what a live wire he can be! And there was a lot of water around!  :D  BEST D-lo memory from this trip was my son hustling him outta $5!  ;D  And he's still promising not to tell my wife Daniel reminds him more of Charlie than Boba!  :) 8) :o

My most "exciting" moment was getting stuck in my hotel elevator for an hour and a half the first morning of the con.  The best part was that my hotel night was comp'd for all 4 nights, so that let me buy a couple extra things while I was there!

I didn't have any great celebrity sightings or anything along those lines, but I loved seeing GL come out on stage as a surprise during the Detours Panel.

I also held the "Hardcore" championship for a brief spell during the 501st Bash!  So wasted I had to have Bloodant help me stand up!  ;D 8) :P

I think my most exciting moment was being in front of all the Clone Wars celebrities during the Season 5 Red Carpet premier. I literally got most of the celebs autograph and I spoke to Sam Wotwer for a good 5 minutes! That's who I wanted to meet the most and man was that worth the struggle to get a good spot in line :) during Celebration ANYTHING can happen and lots of unexpected things can definitely occur!! Also it was great to hangout with Spice, his kid,Gorko and Bloodant! Def felt like I was with family

I think the most exciting part for me was when GL come out during the Detours preview, since it was unexpected.

But as always the many adventures of Spice, Gorko, and BA was an awesome time. Sounds like a new comdey/adventure animation to me LOL.  >:D

Making a few new English friends from Jedi news was exciting as well.

I forgot to mention cutting in front of George Lucas while he was touring the show floor and hoping not to get shot. My hands were full and I didn't want to just stand there gawking at him so I ran between him and his police escort to get across the Hall floor aisle.

But then knowing where he was headed, I was able to get second row at the Clone Wars panel

Anthony Daniels signing a C-3PO figure for my son for free.
To make a long story short. I got my poster signed and my son said he wish he had a figure for him to sign.
AD told me to get one and come back to the front of the line and he signed it for free.

Mine happened in the elevator of my hotel. As I was heading down to the lobby on Friday night the elev. stopped on the 5th. floor and none other than Jeremy Bulloch and his wife got on. We had a very nice conversation about Star Wars, the convention and how much I and fans of Star Wars like myself appreciate his comeing out to these events.
Amongst some other things he related his feelings about attending cons and and the appreciation he has for the fans.
A genuinly nice man that cares about us and is thankful for what we have given to him.

One of my least favorite moments was watching Daniel Logan completely bulldoze Jeremy Bulloch at the Fettastic panel on Thursday.  Jeremy could not have been a nicer or more gracious person.  Logan comes out, won't shut up, talks over everyone, and generally completely turned me off.  I've read that he has a "big personality," but I thought it a shame that his behavior brought that whole panel down a bit for me.

Well that's a bit tough to hear for me, as I know Daniel keeps it on "10" whether it's in front of the camera or simply hanging out with friends.  There was a time when I really hated this kids guts, he used to be quite a jag-off I'd say up until about 4 years ago, but he was always good with the kids.  Then something happend, someone must have had a good talking to him or he just realized the FANS are his greatest asset, and if you ask him now he'd even say that. When we attended a great pool party with him on Friday night, he was so, so cool talking photos with anyone who'd ask.

As far as talking over the others, I felt he was over-compensating to cover for Dickey Beer appearing to be quite nervous about the whole thing on stage.  If you ever spent an evening with Daniel Lohan WAIT a minute what was the nickname my kid gave him?  OH yeah, Charile Sheen!  ;D :D 8) :P  WHATEVER you want to call him, he's a good time and I'm happy to say a great friend.  :)  PLUS the whole Boba Fett thing is pretty cool!  8) ;)

I got to speak to Daniel or a while outside the Meet the Fan Clubs panel and he has really seemed to mature. I thinkk he's just getting old enough, and he also said something he didn't like the "Lohan" title he had been given. But he said he "still has to be me" - as in he can't change all TOO much

Fair enough.  I guess because Fett is my favorite character, I wanted to hear a bit more from the original, and just thought Logan was a bit over the top.  But, I'll obviously defer to those who know him personally.

I'm guessing CVII will indeed be back at the Orlando Convention Center, and with CE2 coming into play I'm wondering if it'd be 3 years instead of 2 this time?

You could be right. However given that Celebrations are being held in various places around this globe it would be great for the fans.
I'm sure that as long as the crowds continue to fill the convention centers, the promotors make their cut and the actors are in demand and making good scratch Celebrations will continue.
I will say this. I had a blast at CVI. But is wasn't a lot different than CV. The set up was basically identical, the shows were more or less the same with a few new add ons.
I didn't see anything that made me say "WOW. I'd love to see that again". I had that feeling at CIII.
If the set, shows and panels are basically going to be the same as the last two then every three years would be better. I'm not sure I would go to CVII in two years if there are not some significant changes.

That's what I found to be the biggest problem of CVI no lie.  It was like OK we can go do this OR this but if we wanna do that we have to go get in line 2.5 hours early so we can scratch the other panel, show ect.  Maybe they need to repeat programming or extend it another day?

I agree, they need to prepare for mass amounts of people to see things. Not getting into the Clone Wars premire was bogus.

I didn't go to CVI this year, but thats also what happen to me at CV. Don't like waiting in line, but I guess we have to. They need more showings each day, maybe even twice a day or more. Orlando Convention Center is the largest to handle it. They don't need to put multiple showings in the same room each day. Spread them out so we can see more thats all we ask.
Also are they selling any of the extra items from the CVI store? I would like to get my hands on a CVI program book.
