STAR WARS Animated Comedy Series.
« on: March 11, 2012, 04:33:33 PM »
Seth Green is behind this and is expected to see a 2013 airdate.

Seriously. Do we really need this?

Star Wars Detours.
I hate it.  I hate George Lucas for allowing this abortion to make it to production.
I saw about a minute of the Teaser #1 video, and I wish that I hadn't.  The hip hop wigger Darth Vader was..... so f#cking stupid.  Just stupid.
I held on to this franchise my whole life.  I held on, and endured fights with my wife when I wanted to by some Star Wars piece of s**t, I hoarded cash to get things that I really wanted, I acted like a douche, and for what....
George Lucas is a clown.  He ruined it for me, and I hate the d**khead for that.
After 35 years, I quit.
Dude, you are being very un-dude right now.

We saw the trailier for SW Detours at CVI. I thought it was rather entertaining and funny. I am looking forward to it. It won't be little spoofs like Robot chicken but more story line based.

Something new and fresh and Star Wars related, so many other new non-SW cartoons/animations out there I don't like, we finally get a good one.

I have NOT seen this trailer & don't care as long as it is funny. I love the Robot Chicken spoofs & Family Guy?

I thought of writing some stories using the the "Patriot Act" & other US (Imperial) Laws & compare to SW Universe?
The Rebels are terrorists? They destroy Private Imperial Property? & protest for their freedom? How DARE they!
Luke is on meds & hears voices?

I think the thing looks hilarious.  Look, we all love Star Wars.  But, it became more than just a movie a long time ago.  Books, comics, video games, cartoons, etc.  Do I love everything about Star Wars?  No.  But, I love what it has meant to me over the years.  Did having a cartoon like Clone Wars ruin the original movies for me?  No, they gave me some new perspective on a few things and helped me bring my son into loving Star Wars.

Detours will be exactly what it is meant to be, some of our most beloved characters in new funny situations.  I'll be able to separate that silliness from their characters in the movies, books, etc.  Bring it on.  When there's no more movies ever planned, any Star Wars that can keep it in the mainstream pop culture is a good thing.

I just watched the trailer on youtube ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-yRNXFhboBI )and it actually doesn't look half bad. I wonder if it will be short 4 1/2 minute cartoons like Loony Tunes or traditional half hour stories.

I have to admit that after watching the trailer and these clips, i'm looking forward to watching this show. The Han and Chewie clip is fantastic.

Now, is there a new Star Wars LEGO Series coming? Maybe a mni-series like "Ninjago" was?

I've really enjoyed the Robot Chicken and Family Guy spoofs, but I kinda have a few problems with this kind of spoofing getting out of hand.
I think it's just a sad attempt to keep SW in the public eye. Since we don't have any movies coming out and the 3D releases won't be hitting theaters until next year. The CW series can only carry the franchise so far.
This isn't the SW we all know and love. I'm really surprised that Lucas is allowing this to happen. We were lucky  that he allowed RC and FG to spoof SW.
It's funny that he allows this to happen, but won't release the Holiday Special and that he always wants to distance himself from it.

No matter what anyone one does, you are not going to satisfy 100% of the people. So i am sure they will be people who will not like this. Esp the group of people who only like the 3 original SW films and that's it. My cousin is like this and stuck his head in a hole and doesn't enjoy anything else SW. Too bad for him, I'm enjoying it all. I hope they keep making SW related stuff, even fan made stuff is worth while as well.

Don't worry. Dave Filoni said at C6 they are already working on season 6 and beyond.
