Set in the Republic Era. The origin of the virus.
Was just wondering if anyone has started reading this yet.

So true. I'll give you that one, but I'm willing to bet that Red Harvest will be alot better than Death Trooper.

So true. I'll give you that one, but a willing to bet that Red Harvest will be balot better than Death Trooper.

Well I ordered it off of amazon cause it was half price...so we shall see once I read it.

Started reading it, but so far it's like the first Darth Bane novel.
How come that it seems that every Old Republic novel has the reading in a Sith temple. Where there is one student that everyone fears and one of the lead characters has to fight him and is bested by him. If it keeps going the it is. I can already tell where the book is going :(

I'm 23 chapters in and it's really getting good. It's nice to finally read a SW book where it's not about Jedi VS Sith and all the political mumbo-jumbo througout.

I'm 23 chapters in and it's really getting good. It's nice to finally read a SW book where it's not about Jedi VS Sith and all the political mumbo-jumbo througout.

Im about 2 chapters from where I was....didn't get a lot of reading done so far this week. But nothing political or whiny nonsense is always a nice nice thing.

Finally finished it.
Overall it was a great read that kept getting better and better.
Now I'm glad that Death Troopers was horrible. Because wasen't expecting much from Red Harvest and Schreibers' talent for writing Horror, but he must have did his research on "Zombies". Because this was a true Zombie read and it had all the elements of a good zombie movie feel

After reading "Death Troopers". I was worried that this one was going to be bad also. But I really enjoyed it.

Finally read this one. I didn't even know about RH until I saw this thread a few weeks ago.

I liked death troopers better. I liked the setting and characters better. RH introduced so many characters that died or were turned early and offered no progression at all. Lusk was some kind of badass, got turned, and didn't pop up again until the end of the book. I don't think I enjoy the old republic setting. Still a good read and the tree librarian was super cool. Overall, I recommend this book, though.

Being a true Horror fan. I found that Red Harvest was more of a Horror setting than Death Troopers.
Red Harvest was more like a Zombie story were as Death Troopers was more like a virus movie.

It also depends on what time era you like. I enjoy the OR. You take out Han and Chewie in Death Troopers. It's just another sci-fi Horror type novel.

I was hoping there would be an epilogue telling that. Don't get me wrongo, I can appreciate the OR. I just prefer the empire time. Anything with jedi and sith, though, is right up my alley.

They touched on it a little.
The virus was delevoped by Imperial scientist.
It was Imperial bioweapon project 171A.
They were going to a remote planet to test it, but the canisters started leaking while being transported on the prison barge.

Yep.
It kinda sucks. After Death Troopers. I thought with Red Harvest. It would tie them together even tough they were thousands of years apart ::)
