The 2014 Superbowl! Genius or ultimate stupidity?

I'm sure you have heard by now that the 2014 Superbowl will be played in the new OUTDOOR stadium that is the home to the NY Jets.
Did I mention that the game will be played OUTDOORS, in FEBRUARY, in NEW YORK CITY?
Is Roger Goodell a genius or a bigger idiot than the dude that came up with the Star Wars Christmas Special?

Well hes no genius. However, the idea of having the super bowl played outdoors in Feb is FAN F'N TASTIC! The way the game should be played.......... ;D

Well it's not in New York City... not even in New York State, actually. It's in New Jersey, in East Rutherford. IMO it's a bad choice to just start allowing anyplace to host the Super Bowl. I thought the idea was to always have the biggest game of the year in the best possible conditions... but since they are throwing that out the window, why not just let one of the two teams that wins the Conference host the game? Have the Pro-Bowl decide who is going to be the home team, NFC vs AFC, and then let the team play the game at home. Every other sport lets the teams play real home games. I've always hated the "let's play this game between the New York Giants and the New England Patriots in San Diego" mentality. Makes no sense to me.

bad idea from my point of view, too damn cold, unless the weather is freakishly warm for some reason...this will be a huge gamble for Goddell and the NFL.  If the weather sucks, they will be losing money on all the extra things that go hand in hand with the super bowl, done in warmer climates....now I like a weather game too, but not for the Super Bowl, conditions need to be perfect to get the best of the best....see I still remember the Cowboys lsing (getting screwed) in an Ice Bowl many moons ago, you remember when Scalper Hunter was only in his 50's !  ;)

If anything I bet more season ticket holders and "average fans" will be able to get tickets simply because the connected and wealthy will not see an outdoor game in 25-30 degree weather as an "ideal" opportunity to be seen and to brush elbows with other privileged d-bags.
