This report is not a happy one and pissed me off pretty bad.
The last few days me and some bros from the Redstick Rebellion Collector's club
that I'm a member of went figure hunting and we found that someone in our area
is taking the two pack figures and spitting them up and returning them for more money.
They haven't found the $4 figure two packs that I found as we double checked that store last night.
So basiclly someone is taking a hair dryer and heating up the glue to seperate them.
Some were even found where they were just cut at the top and the Blockbuster pack label left attached
and the white bar code sticker was taken off.
This is some shamefull s**t IMO, time's are hard for us all as collectors but this is low
and in the end will screw us from having these offers.
This is thieft plain and simple, some card images were also damaged or bubbled up from the process of tring to seperate them which if your a MOMC collector this card will end up sitting on the shelves for ever. Hasbro should have used a better method like using barcode stickers that leave a void imprint.
I made sure the Manager at Walmat knew what was happening so maybe to spred the word to other stores.
We found this crap at three different stores, one was a Target.
We are a tight nit collectors group and have an idea who it may be but we also have ran into other collectors from as far as an hour away while we were looking for star wars stuff too so it is hard to really know who the person or persons it is doing this.
So be on the look out for figures that have sticky residue ect...
