Used the old DCPI trick this morning and scored both the vintage TIE and the Snowspeeder. Both are very cool representations of the original vehicles.Though I wished the TIE fighter was packed in the original Star Wars box.

Hey, folks. Young George Lucas reporting from the Kansas City area. It may have been a dark time for the rebellion, but for STAR WARS collectors, the 30th anniversary year of "Empire" has been pretty good so far. Yesterday I went to Target and they had the new "vintage" Snowspeeder---what a great toy in awesome '80's retro packaging! I had to get that--- but passed on the TIE fighter. At TR'U I found the AT-AT in both regular packaging and the incredible vintage Kenner box! Wow! Also, TR'U had lots of the "Vintage Collection" waves, and I found the Sandtrooper on the new revised card. Plus, this week had the release of the massive "Making of The Empire Strikes Back"! I must say that with all this cool stuff, the thing I'm most looking forward to is eFX's upcoming "A New Hope" Darth Vader helmet. I would gladly sell a kidney for that thing! Have a quality day. News for Sandtroopers.com -- LOOK WHAT I GOT IN THE MAIL TODAY
« Reply #182 on: October 26, 2010, 11:22:02 PM »
Rocket Fett figures are shipping!!!!
Be on the look out for your's in the mail....

After years of getting damaged exclusive mail away figures,
I really wanted my Fett figures to be as mint as they could be so I sent along a letter with my POP's for 10 fett figs
asking to please ship them in the case they come in
and wow, they hooked it up!!

I even called them and the lady on the phone said they couldn't send them in the original shipping box so it was a huge suprise to get this in today... WOOT!!!

I also asked how many came in a case which is another reason I saved up for 10 of them as my best guess was that there'd have been 10 or 12 per case,
but they woudn't tell me but as you can see on the box there are 20 per case.

THANKS HASBRO, YOU ROCK!!!!

Hey, folks. Young Gorge Lucas reporting in from the Kansas City area. I saw in the news today that Christie's Auction House in London is auctioning off a Darth Vader costume next month. It is a suit used for the filming of...drumroll please...."The Empire Strikes Back"! The article said it is expected to go for between $250,000 and $365,000 and goes up for auction November 25. I can't imagine owning something like that, but I'd sure like to. It also said it's for sale from "a private American collector"---is it the one Steve Sansweet has, or had?

WOW Walt, what a good thing you got back from Hasbro. GOOD to see they are listening to their customers on this!  Thanks again to YGL too, and I'm not sure if that would belong to Sansweet or not. IF IT did, I don't think he'd be selling it.  ;)  :-\

WOW Walt, what a good thing you got back from Hasbro. GOOD to see they are listening to their customers on this!

Man as small as these figure boxes are, I bet alot get damaged
in transit but I'll say this, the one I did open, the card was warped.

So I guess either way u look at it, if your a mint on card collector
what I did is the way to go.

About half of these are X-Mas gifts but I'll be keeping a few for myself and I'm even about to open one!!!

I also found an AT-AT on sale at K-mart for $55 with tax,,,   HHelllll --- yeaahhh!!!

I know I posted it in my last post but here's the skinny....or should I say Huge fockin AT-AT Walker

After reading last week that K-Mart had an unadvertised
half off sale of the AT-AT Walker, normally $99.99,
I made a call to the only Kmart I know of close to my area.

After almost 15 mins of sitting on hold
with no one ever picking up the phone including the
person that first answered it, I gave up an hung up.

I then called the scouting madman and fellow
SW collector's Club member,, TC.

He called me back to say they had two in the store
and both boxes were damaged.

Needless to say, wait.... I know I know, I said I wasn't buying Hasbro
toys as much as I use too but this beast isn't just another toy, it's a huge F'n AT-AT
and for half off at that which correct me if I'm wrong,
shouldn't have EVER been on sale this fast especially at KM
which hardly ever marks stuff down like this.

So heads up, AT-AT's are half off, if you can find one left that is.
Happy Hunting  ;D

Hey, folks. Young George Lucas reporting from the Kansas City area. This week Target seems to be the place to be for Classic STAR WARS collectors. Thursday morning I found the new "Return of the Jedi" vintage wave (which were on an endcap and were ---surprisingly---unpunched! Great for the ultimate nerd collector. All of these figures were really awesome, especially Woof, the Gamorrean Guard and Admiral Ackbar---plus they finally nailed the Luke Jedi Knight. They also have their exclusive vintage vehicles and two Hoth sets on sale! Have a quality day.

Vader costume fails to sell

LONDON Auctioneers overestimated the power of the dark side.
An original Darth Vader costume from a "Star Wars" movie did not sell at auction Thursday when no bidder offered to pay the reserve price, Christie's auctioneers said.
The outfit a jet-black helmet, mask and armor was expected to sell for between 160,000 pounds and 230,000 pounds ($250,000 to $365,000). The reserve price is confidential but generally it is just under the minimum expected price.
Christie's said bidding stopped at 150,000 pounds.
The costume is thought to have been made for "The Empire Strikes Back," the second film in George Lucas's sci-fi series, released in 1980.
The auction house's head of popular culture, Neil Roberts, said the costume is one of the most iconic in the history of cinema.
Christie's did not name the seller, identified only as an American private collector.

Chicago, fox valley correspondent checking in.

Up for a showing of the original Star Wars Episode iv on the big screen? Or so it's being advertised, I don't know how accurate that is. Well, if you in chicago, the western suburbs to be exact it's playing at the Arcada Theater in Saint Charles on Wednesday at 3PM and 7PM. Admission is 5 bucks - I hoping some 501st show up, it would be awesome to see some costumed fans there. I'm taking my boys age 9, 7 and 3 - since they've never seen it on a screen bigger than our TV.

yay..

Hey Troopers, finally something new to report in central Texas.  At the Harker Heights Wal-Mart this morning I found 2 cases of the AOTC wave of vintage figures, most of the cards were a little bent up or crushed bubbles, so I only bought a few for openers.  The Killeen Wal-Mart had the other vintage wave with Gree, Stormtrooper, ANH Luke, & R5-D4, etc and a few of the newest Clone Wars wave including Trooper Heavy, R7-A7 & the new Cad Bane with TODO 360.  KMart had At-At's on clearance for $50, but they didn't last long and no sign of Trooper Locke yet here locally.  That's all from here, starfox signing out.
