Playoff challenge Fantasy Football...
« on: December 30, 2008, 05:36:35 AM »
I started a group on ESPN for the playoffs. The format is the following:

You have $50 to spend on a players.
You choose players that are playing that week.

Prize will be a nice plaque.

For the ones that did FF I sent a message to the league about this. If anyone else wants to do this please PM your e-mail address so I can get you the invite. For those that I sent the invite to via the old league let me know if you can get in. If you can't send me your e-mail address again and I will get you the invite.

Thanks

Jorge

I'm in as well.

I am already in 2 other leagues that use this Gridiron Challenge. This is very easy. The only difference is, if I can remember, that with 2 weeks left everything locks, so you might have people on your roster that got eliminated.

In it to win it. Two trophies in one year? Sounds pretty spizzle to me...  8)

just to clarify something there is no fee for this challenge. you get a cap of $50 to spend on players, but that is just for fun.

I hope everyone that wants to get involved in this gets involved. It is easy and seems like it will be a lot of fun.

thanks to those that have joined already.

DW had 121...to take over the lead. I will be last with 98

If I remember correctly other scores were another 98, a 99, a 101, and I forget the others.

Funny, I thought I'd be in first but for the wrong reason. For some reason I thought I had picked Sproles as one of my RBs. Come to find out I didn't.

So at some point do we have to redo our rosters to replace players who have been eliminated, or are the rosters locked for the entire post season?

You can change your roster again this week and possibly next week. After that I believe they are locked. I think for the NFC/AFC Championships and the Superbowl they are locked.

From what I read I am pretty sure we can adjust rosters all 4 weeks of the playoffs. We would all have pretty much the same team by then anyways.

It makes sense to lock it once we get to the conference finals because otherwise everyone would have the same two qb's for the Super Bowl...

This will be an interesting week. Once you're locked in, the rosters stay locked until AFTER the SB. So the question is, do you pick all your players from the 2 teams you think will get to the game or do you spread out over all 4 remaining teams to guarantee yourself some points.

I gambled on the Ravens and lost, that how.  ;) I figured everyone would go with the Steelers so I threw all in and went with the Ravens. Now I'm 5 guys down for the SB, so by the end of the game I'll probably have dropped into last place.

I surprising only lost my TE so I am in decent shape. Probably won't win but what the hell this was for fun anyways. My first week sucked I am just happy to have picked good the last two weeks.

this was fun and so was the football league this year. we could always do other fantasy leagues like baseball or some non-traditional ones like golf or NASCAR. I will leave that up to yall. I will start any fantasy league you guys want to do.

I would like to try the baseball one as I have no idea how it's played and with all of the games played everyday may make it interesting or a pain in the ass.

baseball isn't too bad or hard. the only thing you really got to keep up on is pitching. Most of the guys (field positions) play on a daily basis so you really don't have to watch them. The pitchers you can make sure to check the whole week and you will know in advance when you guys will start. I usually check my line-up twice a week just to make sure there are no IR issues and to make sure the pitchers are set.
