From Master Frank:

Quote
Well as the 2007 Champion, I will volunteer to start the league. But I would like to take it to ESPN, because they don't charge you for a stat tracker, and they divide the league into two different divisions, and the playoffs occur in each division, and then the division champs meet in the Championship. I bit more like the real thing.
Obviously open for discussion.

I am in no matter where we choose to host the league.  I think in yahoo, you can separate the teams in 2 divisions if you want, like ESPN.  I usually buy stat-tracker because I am usually in 3-4 other ff leagues.  If everyone wants to make the switch and you Frank want to set it up, I am game.  I would like an opportunity to win that trophy.

Make it 6!

Just as long as we can still do a live draft. That was some funny s**t last year.

I'll give all of you a tip for this year. Develop and practice your draft strategy. Go to ESPN and sign up, then under the fantasy link go to mock draft lobby. I do this almost daily before the real draft. It really helps to see what value other place in certain players, so you don't draft certain players too earlier (like Cowboys players), and others (Vikings players) too late!

If anyone wants to enter the same mock draft with me lmk. They have drafts running all day, every 10-15 minutes!

alright you bunch of fools I am in since I was called a chicken. I was scoping out leagues recently. I will start it up if yall don't mind.

I have done yahell for yrs and that is alright. I was thinking either nfl.com or cbssportsline as well. Trying to remember the other league I was last year that had free stat tracker and had divisions set-up.

I do have some other questions for those that want to be in, but I will wait and see how man are in first before I ask.

I am also working on a trophy for the winner this year. We can send the other one back to WI. lol

I think Master Frank is going to do it, since he was last year's champ. But if it's ok with him, then I don't see a problem with it.

And, if some people don't like 1 site and some people don't like another site, maybe we could do two, at different sites. Just an idea.

I offered to set it up, but it's ok with me if someone else would like to. I do however like the idea of two divisions, but it isn't that important. I've won in many leagues, whether ESPN or Yahoo!, just tell me where to play and I'm there.

About the trophy, it is a little tired looking. Didn't it originate from another that has since defected from this site? Wasn't he also in the league at the time? There are some nice trophy sites on line that can do something fairly affordable, which we can have engraved each year.

I'm cool with any site as well. Just post the link and I'll be there.

I also like the idea of one of our own making the trophy. It has a cool 'by us for us' feel.  8)

I have a couple ideas for the trophy will need the weekend to get all the details worked out.

Also will need the weekend to get the league up and running. I have a couple different ones to look at quickly and then move on.

Yeah, shouldn't be too hard.
Find a trophy with a figure on top. Unscrew the figure. Match the bold pattern. Buy a bolt to attach to the bottom of a Sandtrooper figure that has been painted to match the color of the trophy. Attach the screw to the gold colored trooper, and you're all set . Get a trophy that's 4 sided, and holds plenty of plaques to engrave each year's champion and game score on it.

after doing some research (actually starting 4 leagues to see their features lol) I am trying to narrow it down to one or we could do two leagues depending on the amount of people.

Here is my assessment of the leagues:

Yahoo - the ol' reliable league we have used in the past. easy to use. has keeper option this year. can have as many playoff teams as you want. pts totally customizable. stat tracker has a fee and no division play. We do have a history on it and that can be accessed. Actually already is.

NFL.com/cbssportsline.com - same league pretty much done on same site I do believe. can have divisions (3). free stat tracker. ran just like a real NFL league. scoring is per-determined as well as rooster slots. only 12 teams and only 4 teams make playoffs.  I personally don't like it.

espn.com - division play allowed 4 divisions. can have as many playoffs as you want. free stat tracker. new features include have a head coach on rooster and live auction draft - draft in which you put a player up for bids where the highest bid gets the player. each team is given a budget of $200 for this. totally customizable and seems to work well.

foxsports.com - has division play. as many teams as you want for playoffs. customizable scoring.

I guess it would be time to put to a vote which one we want to do. Yahoo, ESPN, and foxsports.com all seem to be pretty good. I have leagues set up on all three.

Is the $200 budget used to draft all your players?

the $200 budget is for your whole team. so you have to spend wisely. minimum bid is $1 per athlete. if you want to spend a lot on a particular player you will be given a max in order for you to be able to complete your rooster. it seems like it could be pretty fun.

here is a link to the "auction" draft new feature.

I like the ESPN $200 budget idea, that's a new one to me. Might make for a long, hard draft tho.

for each round you only get 30 seconds of bidding using the auction style. so it may go quicker than first thought.

the auction style of draft isn't the only one available for espn it is just the new thing out there. they have standard live drafts as well.

I am going to end up keeping all 3 leagues open so whoever doesn't want one can do the other. the others may end up being for SW fans and others I know in general not solely for st.com.

is it too late to add a poll to this thread so we can vote on league? or should I just do invites to all three leagues I have open and go from there? I just want people to be happy with the league that is chosen for our group.

« Reply #43 on: August 03, 2008, 05:54:54 PM »
It was kinda too late, but I made a new topic with a poll and then merged the two together - I have that power, ya know  :D

ANYWAY, please vote now and let us know where you think we should have our fantasy league this year.

my vote has been cast. just a reminder about the leagues nothing is set in stone as far as scoring goes, draft type, etc. (if we choose say ESPN we would vote on draft type (either traditional live or auction live)) that will be figured out once we get the league formed, which there are three up and running in the sandtrooper name. Once we pick a league the other leagues will get a name change and be for anyone. One of the other leagues could be our overflow league or if people want to do a "competitive/serious" league I am sure we can work it out at some point. The league we are voting on is for us only and will be our main one where a trophy will be handed out at the end of the season and it is just for fun and bragging rights.

I voted for the yahoo league because I'm most familiar with that one but I'll pretty much play in any. My only 'no' vote goes to the auction-style draft.

ESPN is totally customizable man. You can have bonuses for certain stats and you can have virtual trophies made as well. Was thinking about having a weekly high score trophy. lol the only league that wasn't customizable was nfl.com. they are all user friendly and all pretty much the same as Yahell.

Espn has the free stat tracking, and they let you customize your team helmet to some degree.
Hey I won an ESPN league last  year too! 8)

i vote against the bidding league. that takes too much thought for me.

I agree, the bidding league is a distraction. The regular ESPN league is good.
If we can do 4 divisions that would be great.

Maybe we can all vote on a date for the draft that works for the majority.

Should we all send you are e-mail so you can send us an invite to join the league? Or you can just post the league number.

I will post the league id(s) here later tonight. I will post the yahell league and the espn league for people to join. From the votes so far it looks like ESPN league will be the one we go with as our "formal" league. The yahell one will be up for anyone that would prefer that one and will be a multi-group league (people from all over will be there SW and non-SW people).

Here are the links:

ESPN: http://games.espn.go.com/ffl/leagueoffice?leagueId=231156
          league id: 231156
          password: sandtroopers
Yahoo: http://football.fantasysports.yahoo.com/f1/267723
           league id: 267723
           password: bears

ESPN you will need to set-up an acct unless you already have one. Same goes for Yahoo. I have sent invites to everyone I have e-mail addys for in order to get the ESPN league up and running.

please PM me with your e-mail addys I will do it that way and send out invites. I have some of you from the yahell league last year just don't remember who some of you are don't want to invite the wrong people. lol

I have the following people from yahell league last year:

DW
Foxy
jokabofe
Frank (I think I have him anyways)
Jacensolo66 (just PMed me)

What I just realized was I sent up a totally customizable league and they have a different way of doing invites no links allowed must be invited. So my fault guys.

I'm in, and noticed you had a poll about how to set up the league, but don't offer the most traditional set up.

QB
RB
RB
WR
WR
WR
TE
K
DEF

You had one very similar, but had the coach in there too.
Just me two cents. I prefer the above simple set up.

the league on ESPN is really starting to take shape. We have 12 teams signed up so far just waiting on two people yet.

I see some have voted for a yahoo league if there is enough people who really want that as well I do have one started. the id and league info is on page 2 of this thread. I may have to have two st.com leagues. I also have a Fox one available but that will more than likely be deleted soon.

for those in the ESPN league please check the league's home page. We need to get a time and date for the draft as well as get ideas on roster size. Please post your comments in the threads provided there.

Thanks

for those that haven't gone over to the League page lately. We need to set a draft date and time.

I am suggesting now Aug 24th (sunday) at 9:00 pm EST or something like that. I know we have a lot of CST people and PST time people but just as many EST people. Let me know what yall think this weekend looks to be out of the question unless we can come up with something by Friday.

I think that will do for a draft time I will go to the league and post it and send out an e-mail reminder.

Aug 24th 9 EST/8:00 CST/6:00 PST all PM/evening.

I just need to get the rosters all set-up (# of positions) and go from there. But this was a big step in the right direction.

here is the deal. I goofed I thought that you could just pick your time (what you want that is) and it was cool (yahoo allows ya to do that) So when I went to set the time up in stone there was only 9:30 and 9:45 left. It is my fault I screwed up I am sorry about that.

the league filled up quickly. I can start a 2nd one if people are interested. I just need to get that going real quick though and that league will probably not have a live draft.

I agree, it should be at least 24 hours before the draft. I think Yahoo does the same thing though. I remember not knowing where I was picking until I logged in for last year's draft.

Get ready folks draft is a little more than 24 hrs away. I hope everyone has their pre-rankings done that won't be attending the draft. I hope everyone has received my messages about the draft and can be available for it. There hasn't been a lot of talk in here or the league so I am a little nervous.

Just did that as well. Says I'm ready to roll. Hopefully that's the case when the draft rolls around or I'm going to end up with a roster of 12 TE's  :P

So, will there be a link to the draft on our league FP or something?

EDIT: I just tried doing a mock draft but it told me there were zero draft rooms. I though these were always going on?

For the draft you should see a section labeled Draft info and when it becomes time for the date there will be a link for the draft app. Just like there is one now for the test settings. You are allowed to enter the War Zone an hour before the draft starts. I will probably be on around 9:00 EST/8:00 CMT/6:00 PST.

Draft time is 9:30 EST hope to see everyone there. I hope people have been getting the e-mail reminders that I have been sending out and that ESPN sent out yesterday.

I want to thank everyone who made it to the draft tonight. It was fun even though the 1st 4 rounds were screwy. I hope everyone enjoyed tonight and if not too damn bad. lol j/k.

If people are interested this could be a keepers league where you can keep 1 or more players from this season for next year. If we switch to Yahell next year after what happened with the draft tonight this would mean nothing.

MASTER FRANK'S FF PLAN!

Hey TROOPERS!
My plan was to not pick any player that another would want, and instead build a team of the waivers. Last year I messed up with the draft and had many waiver wire players build my team. This year my entire team will be made up of players I picked up off the waiver wire, and hopefully I can repeat and beat you all again.
This message is just to show you my loser roster before I rebuild it.

Well the draft was fun but that order was totally F'd. The top four teams had a huge advantage and made the draft stragety odd. Anyway guess well see how it goes unless we have a mulligan.

Take a vote. Abolish the current league and draft again, or keep the current league.
Hate to see all of Jorge's hard work setting everything up go for not.
The draft order was a definite challenge.

If everyone wants to scrap the league and go to Yahell I will do whatever everyone wants. I already have a Yahell league set up and ready to go I did that in order to compare all the leagues. I was disappointed last night at how the 1st 4 rounds went draft order wise. Everything I read said a flip flop rotation would take place.

If everyone feels strong enough that the draft was a joke and wants to do anyone please make it be known ASAP. We have roughly 2 weeks left before the start of the season. We may have to do a draft on a week day instead of the weekend. Next weekend is Labor Day so that will throw things for a loop.

Please post what you feel ASAP and we will go from there I need a decision by Wednesday at the latest.

Thanks

Draft order is really irrelevant in the grand scheme of things. My 11th round pick could end up being the best player on my team. In reality, only TWO rounds were effected by this and quite frankly, judging by the way guys got picked, I don't think it will make very much of a difference. It ended up working out that from round five on it went the way it was supposed to, because now the reality is only the 2nd and 4th round didn't go the right way.

Would a couple of guys gone to different teams? Probably. But you never know, that may be a blessing in disguise...

Keep it the way it is. While I was shocked that I had the 1st pick for 4 rounds that quickly went down hill when I would get the last for the rest. Evn then I would get the 1st choice again, I would have to wait almost 10-15 minutes for another pick. I actuall changed the laundry, ate a late supper, and put the kids to bed. It was pretty funny.

While I agree that the way ESuckPN had it set up blows, we're all pretty much in the same boat. It's not like only one or two of us got hosed. Plus the odds that we'll all be able to sync-up our schedules to allow for another draft within the next week is not likely. I say keep it

Jay it effected the first 4 rounds........So in other words number 1 pick got 1, 15, 29 and 43 verses 1, 28, 29 and 57. What what really hurts is the guy at the end.......instead of 14, 15, 42, 43 hes getting 14, 28, 42 and 56. Its like letting the entire league pick ahead of you twice and in a league this large its a huge disadvantage. Im in for yahoo just because ESPN screwed us royally and the draft was a shambles.............besides we might get everyone to show instead of a few autopicks.

Don't be too sure. I think regardless of when and where we do it, there are going to be people who can't make it. With the start of the season less than 2 weeks away AND a 3-day holiday weekend coming up, that doesn't leave many days to choose from.

Like I said before, it was far from perfect, but most of us are in the same boat. I was at the back of the draft but hopefully my picks will overcome the draft order problems. I say lets go with this as it is.

If money was on the line, then yeah we should change/redo it. But it's a free league amongst friends. It's supposed to be fun. Nothing more.

It only effected them in round 2 and 4. They picked where they would have anyway in round 1 and 3. So only two picks were effected. I agree, it could have changed who people got at the beginning and end of each round, but I'll bet it's not nearly as much as you think, especially with people from the 5-10 range.

I'd be willing to bet the draft wouldn't have gone much differently otherwise. And again... considering some of the guys people took... some people would have been hopeless regardless of where they picked.  ;)

Hey, we can't all be future league champs like me.  >:D

I agree with DJ, and SHB.
If we were gonna scrap it, we should just have done it last night, we committed to a time and kept it. Only the 2nd and 4th rounds were hosed, but since this if for fun and not $$, then I say leave it.

I have 2 other "live" drafts I need to attend to, so my time will be limited and I don't want the ESPN autopicker giving me 7 RBs...LOL  :P

Master Frank good luck with the "Waiverwire Team"...your new team name lol

yeah kinda at the draft Frank drafted players that were either retired, on the IR, or not on a team. he then turned around and dropped them all for guys on the waiver wire. Hence Waiver Wires as his team name.

Once the game starts - i.e. once a player on your team starts playing - they are locked for the 'week'.

OK, I have a question. Why is EVERY available player on waivers? Why can't I just drop Burleson now that he's hurt and pick up a player? Why do I have to wait through the waiver wire to get a replacement? Is this going to happen all season? Because if it is, that sucks.

I'm even more confused now. I checked the league rules and it says the Waiver period is 1 day. These players have been on waivers since Friday/Saturday and don't come off waivers till Sept 10th?

i think the waivers are 1 day after the last game of the week is played (MNF).....I thought you could pick up during the weekend, but they may lock it once the first game of the weekend is played (usually Sunday but Thursday this last week)...should be kinda normal starting now, on waivers Tuesday, available on Wednesday...this makes waiver position a little more important

I do believe what Fox has said is correct with ESPN. I think once the games are all on Sundays then Waivers will be a 1 day thing in order for everyone to have a chance at a pickup instead of the guy who is logging on all day on Sunday. This will make sure you make your wavier wire claims wisely. Because once you use it you fall to the back. Sometimes you just have to put a claim on a guy, but this may make ya think twice about doing it.

So then.... when are players "free agents"? I thought that players were only on waivers when they were released from another team. That's kinda stupid.

OK, I have another question about the waivers. I understand that when you get the player on waivers, you are sent to the back of the group (i.e. position 14). But, what order are the players on waivers selected in? In other words, let's say I'm after 4 players. Let's say I'm at position 4 on the wire list. Now, if player #1 on my list is up first, and no one else is after him, I would get him and then be put into position 14. Player 2 on my list comes up, and there's another player that wants him, so he would get him automatically since I'm now at #14. BUT if player 2 were up first, and I had a higher position that another member, I would get that player, and be put into position #14 but still get my other player since nobody else wanted him.

So basically what I'm asking is, what order do the waivers go by? Is it alphabetical by player? Or is it put in order of who wanted a player first? Am I confusing you all yet?

The waiver issue is a setting that can be changed under LM Tools.

The waiver issue is a settting that can be changed under LM Tools.

Move to last after claim, never reset order is usually the setting by default. This means if I make the last successful claim, I become last to pick again. The person who picks up a player off waivers after me then becomes last, and I then become one before him. NOTE: This order is only in affect if there is a waiver period of a day or two after a player was dropped by another. If the player hasn't been recently put on waivers(has been their beyond the grace period), then as soon as one lays a claim he goes to that team.

The other option is that it Resets every Tuesday in inverse order of the standings. I don't think our league is using this option.

Currently what is happening is that the league is waiting either one or two days after the Monday night game was been played before allowing players on waivers to be claimed. Once games commence for the week, players are then not available to be picked up until that one or two days after the Monday night game. Again, this can be changed in the League Management Tools, to allow one, two, or no wait period at all.

The disadvantage to no wait period is that experienced coaches will grab players quickly, so the newbees  must be quick learners and grab players quickly as well. The wait period is designed to give everyone a chance to lay claim to a player.

Confusing?
Yes I am!

i believe it goes in the order you claim them, so make sure the one you really want is your first waiver wire claim

Right, but what I'm saying is if I claim a player on waivers with my #1 choice and you claim the same player with your #3 choice, when does that player get claimed?

This is all very confusing.

I have several players on my team that are injured and not playing anymore this season, and I just want to replace them. With this waiver thing, how long is it going to take me to do that? Am I going to have to "fight" with everyone in the league every day to try and get a player?

Right, but what I'm saying is if I claim a player on waivers with my #1 choice and you claim the same player with your #3 choice, when does that player get claimed?

If you are number one on the waiver list to claim players, and another is number 3, and there is a waiting period on the player. When the period is up you get him because you have a higher waiver order.

Once you made that successful claim, you go to the back of the waiver wire claim list.
So, it makes since to think about the order you make claims to players. If your waiver order is high, but your second claim is more important than your first, you may want to rethink it.

Let me see if I can put this into English. LOL.

I want Sammy Morris, Bills D, and Le' Ron McClain.

I put Morris #1, Bills D #2, and McClain #3 in my waiver order. I am currently #13 in the waiver slots.

'Foxy wants Morris, Titans D, and Pierre Thomas. He puts Titans D #1, Morris #2, and Thomas #3. Currently #4 in the order.

Bloodant wants Bills D, Thomas and McClain. He puts McClain #1, Bills D #2, and Thomas #3. Currently #8 in the order.

NOW, since you get put to the end of the line once you claim a player, the outcome of the above all depends on which player goes first. If Thomas goes first, 'Fox will get him and then get pushed to #14 in the order, which gives me Morris all alone. If Morris goes first, 'Fox will get him. If McClain goes first, BA will get him over me but then I'll get the Bills D.

Is everyone as confused as I am?

So what you're saying is that your order in the waiver wire is what really counts, and basically by having position #13 I'm going to get screwed out of most, if not all, of the players I'm hoping to claim.

If your waiver order is high, but your second claim is more important than your first, you may want to rethink it.[/color]

So what you're saying is that your order in the waiver wire is what really counts, and basically by having position #13 I'm going to get screwed out of most, if not all, of the players I'm hoping to claim.

Great!!

Once the others pick before you, then your order is higher than theirs. It's all supposed to work out in the end. People who never pick, who forget the league, will hold onto the highest waiver order, until they cash it in. An advantage, that isn't always obvious, is that know one else knows who you want. I picked up plenty of good players on waivers to form my team and didn't complain, and nobody knew who I was picking.  ;D

Exactly. It's like standing in a "1 per customer" line. If you're first (1 of 14), you basically get you pick of all the FAs. Once you pick, you go to the "back of the line" and whoever was 2 of 14 moves up to the #1 spot.

oops, looks like Wormie beat you to him  :'(

Sorry.  ;)

Ooops!
Did someone else want Cassel? Because I guess I was higher on the waiver wire than others, and didn't advertise I was interested in him, and now I got a QB on one of the more prolific offensive teams in the league.
Sorry if someone else was interested in him  ;)

Thanks Wormie!
I know that no one really expects me to win because pulled that stunt during the draft. But i kinda like the underdog role. Suits me as a Viking fan.

The first week has been an eye opener to say the lease.

1.Brady out for season.
2.Vince Young booed into a suicidal state.
3.Tavaris Jackson hasn't progressed like the experts said he has. Still sucks. So Vikes will be avg.
4.Raider D was horrible, which was their strength last year.
5.Favre looked good.
6.Pennington actually dare-I-say, looked not too bad.
7.Delhome may be back from his injury.
8.McNabb looked very good.
9.Cutler has put the Broncs back in the hunt.
10.Merriman finally got some sense.
11.Palmer and the Bengal WR's looked like s**t.
12.GB is still good without no.4
13.Seattle has lost their starting RB for a few, and all their starting WR's are on the IR
14.Da Bears D looks like it's back
15.Turner in ATL is looking like the pick up of the year
16.Best TE could be in MIA
17.IND Offense looked bad as Manning is still hurt, Harrison dropped passes, Wayne couldn't get open.
18.STL Bulger had happy feet all game.
19.Cowboys are one of the few non surprises after week one, and most were betting on something to go wrong there, maybe T.O.'s mouth.
20.Lastly, the Jags layed an egg.

OK this is a question in regards to my Fantasy $$$ league. One of my RB is D. Mcfadden OAK but Ive been looking at Chris Johnson RB TENN. In this league we have no bench (16 teams) so I cant just bench Mcfadden and pick up Johnson Id have to drop him. Both are rookies.........

Id like to know your opinions on each. Any help would be great.

Thanx guys

I am biased so I would keep McD. Does Tenn have a good QB? Young got hurt, so nope, so they are gonna stack the line.

Chiefs will win. Huard is probably one of, if not the best back-up in the league. Definitely starter-calibre. Oakland is a mess right now.

I don't know if I would go THAT far. Huard is a donkey...after all he is backing up Brody Croyle for god's sake. But the chiefs should win...with deangelo hall getting burned by a rookie not once but twice last week, look for him to go for the interceptions and f*** up just like he did in Atlanta. Hall is the most selfish player I've EVER seen suit up for a game of football. Ever.

He's a better QB than Croyle is. The reason Croyle is starting is because Edwards is a buffoon.

Is it just me or is the ESPN FF scoring all f****d up today? It shows Chad Johnson on my team with 0 catches and 0 yards, 3 points. But according to the stats he's got 4 catches and 37 yards... which should give me 7 points... not that it helps much as I'm getting my ass handed to me right now.

Hey luck may have been on your side though. Before the game I was sure that I benched Jenkins from ATL for Coles, but when I checked back during the games it wasn't the case. I think I forgot to hit the SUBMIT button??? Dunno for sure. Tough break for me, as it would have been only 14pts separating us going into tonight. Still though, I think MBarber should pace you well ahead of me  :)

Also, another league I'm in with EPSN shows Gonzalez as a WR for IND, but the Colts have been starting him as a TE. Some Fantasy sites recognize this, and give him a designation of WR/TE so you can play him in either slot, not ESPN. Still managed OK though.

Not my week. DeSean Jackson pulled a lame one and tossed the ball away before he walked into the endzone! Now I'm counting, let's see 10pts with the submit button, and another 6pts with the bone head play by DeSean Jackson.

Not that these points will make a difference.  :'(

Saw that.  :roflmao: What's even more amazing is that it wasn't the first time he did that. ESPN was showing footage of him from some college all-star game and he did the same kind of thing. Celebrated a yard too short.

Dope.

I'll take it though. A win is a win is a win.

Ouch.

Don't feel bad, I had Jones-Drew on the bench, and he scored the most points on my team. Not that it would have mattered.

I know it's early in the season yet, but does anyone else find something wrong with 8 of the top 25 scorers in the league are Defenses? At this point, I should have picked D with my first pick. Or second.

I'm actually surprised how few points QBs and WRs get in this league compared to RBs

Yeah there is some truth here. My D scored 49 points. Never though PHI was that good.

They arent.........just one of those games. I mean for christ sake they had 9 sacks and allowed only 6(?) points. Plus a few INT's and fumble recoveries. If you look at the point averages amongst all the positions I think its very well balanced. Obviously the DP and K are going to be a bit below but at least hey score enough to have an impact on the game and not just a few shallow points.

I need a QB!

Who's Team Lauzonis? I sent you a trade for one of your QB's.

If anyone is interested, check my roster and I'll do a 2 for 1 player exchange for a good QB. I see some of you with multiple QB's, but you can only start one per week. I know may want wait for your bye week, but is it really worth keeping a guy on the roster for one start?
If need to maybe I'll throw in an action figure - hey whatever it takes!
Send me some trade proposals, 2 for 1. This player fire sale won't last forever  ;)

Thanks for the offer but I will pass.

It's gonna be a big miss for me this week. I had to cut some players and shift things around because half of my roster is not playing this week.

My last 2 games I have lost by just a couple of points. i really hope T.O. picks it up this week.

Completely lucked into that win last night with Mendenhall breaking his shoulder halfway through the game.  Kind of makes up for my only loss where my starting TE was a last minute scratch and I ended up losing by like 6 points.

Could be my only win this season. I was watching the monday night game pretty intently as Dave had Holmes on his team and I had heath, the TE. I figured it was over after holmes caught the pass for the TD. I will take it.

I know team defenses aren't sexy, but if anybody is in the market for a better than average D, let me know. My #1 defense has had their bye week and my 2nd team D is down for the year (Tampa Bay Bucs, averaging 28 PPG). I'm looking for a RB, WR or TE.

Suprising results in this league so far. Teams with the top 7 picks have only gone 15-13.  2 impressive teams worth mentioning through the first 4 games: The NY Longshots with the 11th pick are 4-0! And Franks' waiver wire pickup team is an impressive 2-2. Well done so far gentleman.

Thanx SHBO, to be honest with the way the draft order debacle went I changed my strategy on which position I was going to prioritize. Seems to have worked so far, but the bye weeks will be the true tell since I dont have a lot of depth on my bench. Hope it holds up.......... 8) Especially since I quite enjoy laying down a cpl hundred points each week............sorry fox, damn good game I must say. Came right down to it.

 :offtopic:

Sorry, I know this is slightly off topic.
My friend bet a ROTS Gunship on the Charger / Raider game last week, and lost. So I told him I can ship it cheap at work for him. The problem is, since never having put one together myself, are the wings removable and if so how. If I leave the wings on the box is gonna be pretty big and the idea of shipping it cheap is out the window.

Thanks for any help in advance, and never bet on the Raiders. It's ok to have a Raider player on your fantasy team, just don't bet on the team!

well fox, barring a complete blow-up by your team u r going to get the win this week. my receivers completely let me down.

one bright spot on my team, it looks like ronnie brown has retaken the #1 spot on the dolphins depth chart and is running very well. which is good as i needed a 2nd running back due to the way this league scores.

Man I'm in a tough divison I have a winning record and I'm still in last place.  :P  only 3 losses total in our group.

How can we change our divison name from "Divison 4" to something like Hutt Space?

I see 2 of the 4 div have names.

Ok, I'm looking at a replacement trophy for the league and wanted to submit a markup of what one can potentially look like.

The circle around his hand shows that a football can be painted and placed there.
The circle around the front is the engraving to say Sandtroopers.
The multiple circles around the right side, and the arrows pointing to the left side and behind show were multiple plaques can be placed on the trophy for later engraving of future winners, and of course the past winners up till now.

What does everyone think?! Should this be our Santroopers Fantasy Football trophy?

the trophy is almost complete Frank. Thanks for submitting your idea. You and I are having the same idea for the most part. I am just using a different Sandtrooper figure. I have been working on it behind the scenes for a lil while now and I finally got all the pieces I need for it now I just have to get it assembled and reveal it at some pt. I am also thinking about adding another trophy to the league a Season Champ trophy or plague a the winning coach can keep after the Sandtrooper Cup goes on the new champ. I will need some design help for the plague if any one is interested.

Jorge all this sounds good. So are you committed to making the new trophy?? Last time I checked it was still up in the air. I won't pursue if you got it going.

Also, I tested plastic figures by painting them the color of a trophy, and found that the titanium Sandtrooper imho looks better. Now the pose is limited, but the color match looks best.

Just the top piece with Sandtroopers would be kewl, but the added bottom portion is simply awesome.

I have wanted to do the new trophy from the beginning.  I had a couple ideas floating around in my head of how I wanted to do it and was waiting on a couple things before I got started. I got lucky and got what I needed for a reasonable price. I am in the process of putting it together hopefully in a week or so I will have it finished.

check your line-ups folks I just took a look at the rosters for this week and a number of teams either have players injured in their line-ups or on byes. let's get those fixed so no one has an easy win this week. if you need to make trades people get them done I will approve them as soon as I know of them no waiting period. there has only been 1 trade this season and that was one I made. Frank leads all troopers with 50+ transactions, which is largely due to his unique drafting style for lack of a better word. lol

I just want everyone to have fun and enjoy themselves.
