POTJ remembered
« on: May 02, 2007, 07:02:11 AM »
Looking back over the POTJ line up I am still impressed with the offerings they made, comming off of EP1 the figs were more realistic, the gave us some great ships such as the tie bomber, crashed snowspeeder, tie interceptor and the AT-ST box was superb for both loose and boxed collectors. Being a mainly OT collector this line really juiced me up for the upcomming items.

Yeah, I really liked most of the figures that came from this line, and who couldn't the vehicles that came out? Some of the figures from this line beats what's out now, IMO. Articulation is great and all, but it's not necessarily needed for each and every figure, and where POTJ excelled is at the level of detail on these figures. I really like Bo Shek a lot from this line, and of course the Scout Troopers were a nice addition as well.

I, too, was a big fan of the POTJ line.  Lots of characters from all over the spectrum, including some concept/EU figs such as the Qui Gon and Obi-Wan Jedi Training figures.  This was the first time we got any OT figs in proper proportions, instead of the incredibly buff and unrealistic.  One of my favs, which I don't even own yet, was the Leia as General from ROTJ.

No, it's the same.  I call it the General Leia, but I do believe it was officially called the Endor Leia.

I for one really hope to have this complete line one day if I can ever keep up with the current ones as the figs and ships I have in this line I do agree are some of the best out. I am so glad they are going to rerelease the tie interceptor as I do not have one and that atst with paploo on the speeder bike was a must have item for me. I think, for the ships, that the packaging created a mini dio with a plastic window that was fairly resilent, not like today where a touch will totally dent or scratch it. I still want that luke with bacta tank that I havent picked up yet too. I hope to have the aurra sing one day too.

This line was great. We were introduced to Shimi Skywalker in plastic format. We also got a new Bounty Hunter in Aurra Sing. Ahh the memories of finding R2-Q5 finally, this one was next to impossible for me to score. Fode and Beed was redone from the previous version, and the fans demanded that Ellorrs Madak be the Fan Choice figure (I scored two for my Cantina). We got a white K-3PO and a wierd alien called Ketwol that really surprised me when I found out his pants were removeable. Chewbacca came with a Dejarnic Table, how cool was that! Darth Maul was all dressed up in this line and Obi-Wan was still in training gear. The blue Coruscant Guard was a welcomed edition to my collection and we finally got some Gungan Troopers for our Battle Droids to blow up. Sabe, even though kinda plain Jane was also cool to add to the collection. It was a fun line to collect, and I would certainly do it all over again. :D

this line has far been one of the best, none of those damn action features, just pure figures and some great Cantina patrons came form here, and the Bo Shek is spot on
