So, which of these figures are straight repacks, retools and brand new?  Anyone have a breakdown of these?

I thought that as well.

Defiantly a few figures worth picking up of the list, very helpful!

Yeah I'm not sure if I'm buying the complete vintage collection yet...   I'm not sure if I can get over the vintage / prequel thing.  :-\

My recipe for solving said "vintage/prequel thing card back issue".

1. Tear of card
2. Open figure
3. Throw card away or Burn, depending on hatred for said movie.
4. Don't buy any for Keeping in the package!

3PO looks like they took the plastic from the old figure carry case and made a new droid.  He totally looks inaccurate and even if he had removable armor, it still would stay on the shelf for me....easy pass.  As for the prequels on vintage cards....probably gonna grab the grevious just for the pockets in his cape, but not gonna keep him carded - blasphemous!

Just so we're clear, the Vader is not exactly a repack...the helmet and head are new.  Likewise with Grievous, who has a new cape.

And as long as we're on the topic, Wedge is being delayed.  Apparently there were some problems with the headsculpt or mold, and he's being postponed until they can get it right.  He's definitely still coming out, though.

He is, very noticeable from any other 3PO figure, I'll be passing on this one especially since he's not shiny!
The Ewok throne figure is nice enough for me I don't need him to be SA.
Also there are 3 removable parts I believe.

I was at my local Target today as they stocked the shelves, I picked up a Hoth Assault BP a ATAT Commander and a Manalorian Police Officer. On the Mando Officer, there was Sticker for the Battle Mat and Sgt. Bric.  I intend to buy  each wave but I will buy the new sculpts first and get the  repacks later, maybe.

Now I can see why some don't like the vintage card on prequel figs... IT LOOKS WEIRD!!!

I think it would be a GREAT idea if Hasbro still had the old Kenner molds and they made those figures in the vintage line. Talk about memories.

I want to get them just for the "cards" because I still have alot of great memories of them when i would buy them as a kid.

Found Wave 2 of vintage on Thursday at TRU.  A truly awesome trio of figures in Sidious, Anakin and the Magna Guard.  Passed on the others due to the $10 price.

I think this is the wave I am least excited about this year.

I would have to think that it's the same for almost all collectors. I mean, a) it's 99% repacks, and b) these are NOT vintage characters. The problem is that stores will order a ton of these, and they will sit on shelves and not move, which will lead to stores NOT putting out the next wave.

the exact same here, TRU has 5 pegs full of wave 1, argh...and the walmarts each have about 3-4 vintage left, so hopefully they will put wave 2 out sooner and for a lower price than TRU also

Does anyone know which figures will have the foil edges? I thought it was going to just be a select few like usual but I found Han (Hoth Outfit), Clonetrooper, Obi-Wan, Luke, Cody, Grievous Bodyguard, Boba Fett, and Darth Vader all on the foil card tonight, so does that mean it's the whole first two waves that will have these?
Also like Fox asked, does anyone know if they will be changing Anakin's card to say Vader? I passed on getting a carded version tonight cause I figured I might get lucky and find one of the foil ones. Now I'm wondering if I should have grabbed the other one there when I had the chance.

Well in my experience most everything pegwarms at TRU because of the higher price, and the fact they order more then anyone else.

Something caught my eye on the new Sandtrooper vintage and it's the ANH scene/logo on the upper right hand side showing Leia and Luke.  This is very cool, but none of the other figures have anything like this from their individual films.

Anyone that went to the Hasbro presentations told why this was done?

It's the logo from SW ANH so therefore it would have to match the others?  Wasn't it on the previous ANH cards?  Yes it was!

http://www.sandtroopers.com/Spice/figureimages/2006/Saga/VSTC/greedo_card.jpg

The Sandtrooper is the lone wolf from ANH, and why it's in the wave? I believe they said they wanted to get it out there.

I found Anakin, the Sandtrooper, and Cody the other day.  No sign of Grievous and Palpatine, who are pretty much buy-on-sight.

Also, shouldn't Vintage get its own sub-board at some point?  It's going to be around for a few years...

I find it weird that these new vintage figures (wow, oxymoron anyone?) don't actually fit inside the plastic cases from the VTAC or VOTC figures. Why did they change the cards from that? Oh yeah, I know why, so they can make NEW cases that will fit these.

I'm sorry sir those old cases are no longer compatible! But we do offer an upgrade at the higher price! Your welcome.  :-X

Something caught my eye on the new Sandtrooper vintage and it's the ANH scene/logo on the upper right hand side showing Leia and Luke.  This is very cool, but none of the other figures have anything like this from their individual films.

Anyone that went to the Hasbro presentations told why this was done?

Don't know why,but I finally got one. ;D

So which cases work with the new vintage collection?  I am usually an opener, but I'd like to keep a couple of these in good shape.  Thanks in advance for any help!

I'm often cynical about these things too but so far AFAIK, Hasbro hasn't announced any new starcases that would fit the TVC cards right?  If they never produce newer starcases, I suppose we can assume it wasn't an error made to help create demand for new starcases (although you'd then get a lot of mad carded collectors I suppose!)

Binks put together a very nice gallery of the entire wave if anyone needs to scope out the ones they're missing!

Don't know if it's been answered yet, but what's up with the different packaging. Went and bought 2 more Sandtroopers. Got home and noticed that they have 2 different packages. One is normal while the other has the shiney silver logo.

It is a chase packaging variant for carded collectors   Which for me is kid of pointless.

These all seem to be pegwarmers in my area. I think maybe a half-dozen total figures in this line have sold around here. And truthfully, I'm not interested in them either. I guess I want the originals.... Although I keep forgetting to look for a Sith Eyes Anakin.

In my area. It seems that everyone is picking around Dengar, 4-Lom, and Twin-pod Cloud Car Pilot. As there are many sitting around. Even at a Target I counted at least 6 Boba Fett's.

Yeah there really doesn't seem to be any of them that are TOO hard to get.  I picked up some of the foil versions at a local Target this week.  I'm usually one to bitch about a Han Solo, but I really like the mechanic concept but the head just seems like it's a little off. You'd think this would have been done much sooner since we got Chewie in the PotJ version.
