Lets hope it is shown at ToyFair, if not ComicCon. I am not impressed with it right as it stands.

Exactly.  With nothing to scale it against, this new pic is pretty useless.

The back and side doors look pretty good, and I like that they've filled the inside of the legs, but I'm not sold on the head.  I was expecting something better than the same vintage mold, which it sort of appears to be.  I guess we'll know for sure soon enough.

I hear you spice it looks just ok.  But I'll reserve judgement until I see the interior.  What I reallywant isacabin where the drivers can sit in front of a place for generalveers to stand behind them. I want a small removable holo vader on the dash.  I also want a connecting tunnel between the head and the body.  Now that would impress me

i would think if you are going to redo this, you would take the Falcon route and make it much bigger and more realistic

It's way to early to tell at this point. Since it's rumored to hold three figures in the head. I'm on the wait and see bench!

I don't buy too much star wars toys these days but I do still buy them.
I was able to score a BMF for $40 on sale so I'm sure these will be marked down as well.

Money is tight but money is made to be spent,
it just depends on what YOU want to spend your money on.
One person's interest isn't always the other person's interest
so everyone will have something different to say
with their budget and interest at heart.

I do plan on getting one even though I have no room for more SW stuff.
I've collected so many different toys since I was old enough to work and buy my own
and over the last 10 yrs have almost sold everything non star wars related and have about $10,000-$15,000
worth of toys still left in my closets, shelves, boxes ect, I also have
star wars costuming armor and star wars fan made props.

I am a Star Wars fan and will continue to be and will buy what I like when I can afford to.
The new AT-AT will be a nice addition to my collection because I gave mine to some needy kids when I was about 15 and had lost the interest in toys and began to chase girls LOL

I would think that taking this route, even though it will be expensive, would create more interest.

To add a little bit to Fox's suggestion, an AT-AT this size definately needs lights, sound effects and flashing guns.

Articulation will also be a major factor. Let's hope the legs work better than they did on the AT-TE.

Now IF these rumors hold to be TRUE, this could end up being one of the BEST walkers that Hasbro has ever done. Since the last picture that was shown of that rumor, I am not impressed so far.

I was thinking more towards 200 since it's a "Turbo Tank on Legs".

I don't think it would sell very well anything after $150 cause mostly collectors would be the ones that COULD afford it, even though hasbro says its kid targeted.

Confirmed SRP of $99.99 - on shelf Aug 1

Quote
Well, we can confirm that there is indeed a great new AT-AT coming this fall. Set to hit shelves on 8-1, it will be offered at a $99.99 SRP (same as the AT-TE and Turbo Tank) and will be an all-new version, rethought from top to bottom with great new play features, a lot of room for figures, and a huge number of electronic phrases and sounds. It has been designed with both collectors and kids in mind, and we think that it will wow both audiences. As for size, we don't know the exact height off-hand, but it is much bigger than the vintage Kenner version when all three dimensions are considered in person. Look for more details, and photos, at Toy Fair. Bring your tape measure!

They did:

That pretty much sums it up for me... yeah... OK.

so it could be 1 inch taller, but 4 inches wider and 3 inches longer?  is that what they mean?   seriously, they know how tall or big the damn thing is

Very good news about the price and the size difference, I'll definitely get one now with all those features who couldn't pass it up! I will be surprised if it actually holds six figures inside the head that seem a bit much, I only need room for Veers and two AT-AT Drivers IMO!
Up next hopefully a redo of Slave 1!

STAR WARS AT-AT
(Approximate Retail Value: $99.99; Ages: 5 & up; Available: August 1, 2010)
In space, size does matter, and Hasbro certainly kept that in mind when creating its all-new, highly detailed STAR WARS AT-AT. The AT-AT (All Terrain Armored Transport) played a significant role in the Empire’s military assault in THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK, and it will play an equally important role in every fan’s toy collection this year! Measuring more than 24 inches tall, nearly 28 inches long, and 12 inches wide, this colossal vehicle holds up to 20 STAR WARS figures – 6 of which can fit in its head alone! – and includes so many play and electronic features true to its on-screen counterpart that it’s hard to believe! From the zip-line in its body and articulated legs for superb poseability, to its LED lights and authentic movie sounds and phrases, this is the must-have addition for STAR WARS fans of all ages. Includes a 3 ¾ inch AT-AT driver action figure and a pop-out speeder bike.
