2 weeks ago I went to the hospital with severe abdomen pain
a CAT scan showed what they thought to be a tumor in my colon, as well as mysterious lumps on some of my other organs
a couple of days later, the colonoscopy confirmed that I have colo/rectal cancer
on Saturday I go for the PET scan, where they will determine if the other lumps are cancerous as well

there is a history of colo/rectal cancer in my family

I start with the chemo and radiation treatment on the 21st, the day after Easter

I'm told the procedure is 5 days in the hospital for the chemo
after those 5 days, they send me home but I have to go back every day Mon-Fri for 4 weeks for the radiation treatment
when those 4 weeks are over I must return to the hospital for another 5 day chemo treatment

they told me that the chemo is harsh and it will take a lot of my energy, and also that the radiation will give me second degree burns "where the sun don't shine" as the doc put it

they said I have a good chance of a full recovery for the colon cancer
I wont know about the lumps until next week, so I'm hoping it's nothing major

in the meantime, my Karaoke thread here will be on another hiatus
