Titanium GENERAL GRIEVOUS
The brilliant, cybernetic mastermind behind the successes of the
Droid Army of the Separatists, General Grievous led the series
of strikes that opened a corridor for the invasion of Coruscant.
Beyond his status as a military genius Grievous was also a
cunning and devoted warrior driven equally by a love of combat
and the rage he felt by his mutilation and imprisonment within a
lifesaving cyborg frame. Though he first appeared on the
Republic Holonet as a wartime rumor, he quickly grew to the
statue of legend as the Republic met defeat after defeat by his
hands. Trained in lightsaber combat by Count Dooku Grievous'
mythical status was cemented after single-handedly defeating no
less than five Jedi on Hypori. He met a warrior's death at the
hands of General Obi-Wan Kenobi after a brutal, bare-knuckle
fight that ended with blaster fire to Grievous's chest thus
burning his organic organs.
Titanium DARTH
MAUL
Little is known about this dangerous Sith
killer. Utterly devoid of personality, he was raised from
childhood on a diet of cruelty, and grew into a man filled with
rage and the power of the dark side. His will was bent beneath
that of Darth Sidious. He served his master without question,
without doubt, and without pity, striking down all those who
stood in his way. A talented tracker, undetectable spy, and
devastating warrior, his was the first Sith hand to kill a Jedi
in over a thousand years.
Titanium luke skywalker
Blasted out of the skies of Hoth by turbo laser fire from one of
the attacking AT-ATs, Luke continues his defense of Echo Base on
foot. Alone behind enemy lines, he uses his harpoon gun and
lightsaber to attack the underside of an Imperial walker,
planting a proton mine that destroys the sensitive internal
systems of the armored behemoth. Equipped only with his wits,
lightsaber and burgeoning Jedi skills he escapes the enemy ranks
in time to flee Hoth in his X-wing.
SUMMARY
The Titanium Line gave the Star Wars characters a unique take
that many collectors did not really care for. It allowed for the
Star Wars character to be preposed in a unique stance or
situation that a normal action figure would not allow in most
extents. This line was made for the collector. It is a shame
that Hasbro decided to cancel the Star Wars Titanium Line of
figures while they choose to continue the Titanium Line for
Transformers and Spiderman.
Other Titanium
Series Figures that were prototyped but now canceled include the
following:
-
Jango Fett – may
have seen an extremely limited release overseas
-
Han Solo –being
modified and made in the basic 30th Anniversary action
figure line (2007)
-
R2-D2 – been
made in the basic 30th Anniversary action figure line (2007)
-
Episode 2 Clone
trooper (red)
-
Utapau Clone
trooper (orange)
-
Snowtrooper
-
Tusken Raider
-
Darth Vader #3 –
might be modified and made in the basic 30th Anniversary
action figure line
As for the other
figures listed, who really knows besides Hasbro what their fate
will be. I would hope that one day Hasbro would choose to
revisit this line of action figures.
