INTRODUCTION: We'll start off with the details in the Clone Trooper. You can bet Darth Vader wanted his 501st Legion Troopers to be on their toes, but I'm guessing not in this way. They captured the movement perfectly and there are many details in the paintjob that I'm not sure we've seen in any of the previous Premium Format figures. From battle scoring on the armor to the tiny pinstripes in the under suit, it doesn't seem like they missed any details in the armor. The battle damage where the saber goes through the chest has quite a bit of detail on entrance and exit, you can see the armor even appears to be melting. The left hand is removable more than likely to ensure shipping, and the magnet will hold it in place quite nicely. They also did a great job of capturing the blaster as if it was about to drop from the Troopers hand, they didn't miss a thing. In fact the only detail I don't care for is the neck appearing to be a tad bit long. However if you just had a lightsaber slammed through your chest, perhaps it would have that effect! The Yoda figure is another great work of art, as this is the second time we've seen the Jedi Master in this line. The Luke Skywalker and Yoda was very impressive for the time, but they did a fantastic job of making Yoda appear much younger on this piece. Yoda has a lot more hair and is considerably bigger when you compare him to the Empire Strikes Back version. The feet, hands and facial sculpt are dead on, and the quality of the costume is nothing short of incredible. They used three watch batteries that are in the back of Yoda. You have to remove the tiny piece of plastic so you have your connection, but be careful as the batteries might pop out. While the battery compartment is pretty easy to find, the power switch is right along Yoda's belt above his left leg. In the future, it wouldn't hurt Sideshow to include some type of instruction sheet. Do you really want to juggle a three hundred fifty dollar piece around or put any guess work into something like this? They also hollowed out the saber to some degree, and used a green light bulb in the hilt that helps generate a beam throughout the entire saber. I'm guessing because it is a bit smaller but you can see the light all the way to the tip. Other than the batteries, you might want to exercise some caution when posing Yoda. They have it set up where you should be able to place Yoda right on the Clone Trooper without a scratch, but I found myself taking extra time and caution and making sure he was secure. The only thing I might have done different is install a wire in Yoda's robe for better action poses. While the price is pretty high for this one, there is no doubt it is my new favorite. You are basically getting two figures, therefore it is not necessarily warranted but somewhat justified in the price tag. There is no doubt in my mind if you spent the money, this is one figure that will be a staple or highlight in your collection. I also think adding the light up saber was an incredible touch, as it wasn't shown on the floor model and Comic-Con. Overall they nailed this one, from the base up and if a better job could have been done it eludes me to see where! SPECIFICATIONS: PHOTOS
