INTRODUCTION:
The Slave Leia Premium Format figure will no doubt leave your jaw on the floor upon your very first gaze. One of the most provocative, sultry and surprisingly sexy figures produced to date, the fourteenth offering of the line is without a doubt an incredible likeness of Carrie Fisher. While Sideshow Collectibles was not the first to experiment with this particular costume, you might argue this battle stance is a little bit more attractive than the Gentle Giant statue or even the Kotobukiya ARTFX figure.

You might argue the facial expression is a little bit more of a surprised look vs. the intense stare of the first Premium Format version. The one lone detail I may question is the pasty or near white skin tone she has. Who knows, maybe her worship didn't have much time to sun-bathe during the planning stages to recover her love Han Solo! There are many other details they did not lose sight of. The vibro-axe, chain around her neck and many other pieces of the costume have some very intricate detail. The ear rings, right down to the braid on the pony-tail were magnificently done. If there was any serious detail over-looked I had quite a time spotting it, as your mind might wander other places if you stare too long!

As with any of these polystone beauties, you should exercise extreme caution when removing them from the packaging. While she does not have too many features that seem brittle or fragile, I'm sure it wouldn't take much to warrant a tube of superglue. I would be extra careful with the ponytail and the tip of the axe especially. As far as the choice to create another Princess Leia opposed to another character or Trooper even, I think they went with a version that wouldn't have a problem selling. While this is an excellent figure, the only major problem I had was with the choice for the exclusive piece.

SIDESHOW EXCLUSIVE EDITION:

This figure is one of the rare instances where you feel a bit left out if you were not able to obtain the very limited exclusive edition. The bonus Salacious B. Crumb figure will add that bit of "extra" the increased price would call for, but it hasn't been since the Dagobah Luke figure that they've produced something that would really be heavily desired.

Another area I'm a bit surprised they didn't explore could have been using real hair on the Crumb similar to the 1:1 piece that was released last year. The extra really does set the piece apart from others, but on the same note if you had the standard piece you would save twenty-five dollars. Therefore you might not worry so much about having the compliment display piece. Overall this is an outstanding piece I think any collector would enjoy, your wife or significant other (if applicable) maybe not so much!
