INTRODUCTION
Their remote location makes the spaceports of Tatooine havens for the varied masses from across the galaxy. At the seedy Mos Eisley spaceport, this variety is more than evident at the main hangout,
Chalmun's Cantina. The most loathsome of Mos Eisley's population can regularly be found there, including Imperial Sandtroopers, who are deployed by the Empire to quell outbursts with brutal efficiency. In the days before the Galactic Empire, the spaceport of Mos Espa hosted a similar reputation as a
"wretched hive of scum and villainy." From the outdoor markets to the junk shops
- overseen by the gambling crimelords, the Hutts - Mos Espa was a place where a
nine-year old boy could learn the ways of the universe.
The Cantina was originally offered as a mail-away exclusive through the Fan Club and then later was offered through the Frito Lays Spirit of
Obi-Wan coupon promotion.
This was the first toy to include Jedi Master Points where you could save up and get items later when offered.
The patrol droid that is attached to the Sandtrooper Sergeant’s backpack that is included wit this playset is known as an Mark IV Sentry Droid / IM4-009
"Face Droid". The Mark IV Sentry Droid, also known as the IM4, is a small,
multi-purpose sensor droid manufactured by the Imperial Department of Military Research and employed by the Galactic Empire.
According to Expanded Universe sources the figure is the character of Davin Felth who spoke the line
"Look sir, droids!" in the film.
So without further ado fill up the Cantina and make it the place to be for your action figures to hang out, relax, listen to some Bith music, get a drink or just even book passage to the Alderaan System. What happens at the Mos Eisley Cantina stays at the Mos Eisley Cantina.
