The Luke Skywalker figure is similar to the carded POTF2 Luke Skywalker figure but with a hole in his back.
Since the Desert Sport Skiff was never seen on film many consider this to be one of the first figures to be part of the Expanded Universe of Star Wars.
The desert sport skiff was a small repulsor sport-craft, suitable short trips and stunts. It came standard with turbo thrusters and mid-sized repulsors, though the thrust capacity was limited to 150 km per hour, for safety reasons.
Luke Skywalker owned one of these vehicles during his youth on Tatooine, where he bought it at a cheap price from a group of Jawa traders. Subsequently, he and Biggs Darklighter heavily modified the skiff, adding an afterburner to the
megalifts and three high powered blasters for defense. Luke was able to achieve a top speed of 400 km per hour, far exceeding the
manufacturer's limit.
