Story and Photos by David Syczylo (Boba Binks)

INTRODUCTION
Upset by his dumped cargo a bounty was put on Han Solo's head by Jabba the Hutt. Han Solo took a charter to the Alderaan system to pay his debt off to the vile gangster. He was to transport Obi-Wan Kenobi, Luke Skywalker, R2-D2 and C-3PO from Tatooine to Alderaan for the price of 17,000 credits to rescue Princess Leia.

Gentle Giant really messed up on this one. Over the years Gentle Giant has made some outstanding pieces in their Star Wars line. Han Solo which is the companion piece to the Boba Fett statue or if you wish the Chewbacca statue fails in my opinion. First off the pose is very plain for the Han Solo character. I feel it should be more dynamic. The sculpting is not bad from the neck down. The outfit, gun belt, to the blaster and detail pieces all around are great, I did say from the neck down. I do not know what Gentle Giant was thinking on the head sculpt. For some reason it is a poor likeness of Mr. Harrison Ford’s character of Han Solo.

A prized smuggler he may be but this piece is far from a prize.
