TARGET EXCLUSIVE 2007
The frigid ice world of Ilum was one of the most sacred locations of
Jedi power in the Republic. Nearly every Jedi made at least one
pilgrimage there during their training to receive visions in the
Force-rich caves and to construct their first lightsaber. The Jedi
temple on Ilum was subject to a vicious Separatist attach that might
have dealt irreparable damage to the Jedi Order had it not been for
the timely intervention of Padme Amidala, C-3PO, and R2-D2. Blocking
the way were Chameleon Droids that were dealt with.
Padme Amidala
(Snow Bunny)
Quick-thinking and brave, Padme made a career out of snatching
victory from the very jaws of defeat. On Ilum, here sharp eye and
keen mind (along with a thermal detonator) saved her from an ambush
by a squad of heavily armed Chameleon Droids. Padme Amidala an
all-new sculpted figure was originally scheduled for released in
2006 as a single Target Exclusive figure such as past figures: Darth
Vader, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Clone Trooper, and more. Instead it was opted
to place this figure in an all-new Battle Pack.
C-3PO
(Protocol Droid)
C-3PO swore to serve and protect Senator Amidala at all costs. He
was a much- needed distraction in the fight with the Chameleon
Droids though against his better judgment. C-3PO is a repacked
figure from the 2004 Revenge of the Sith line of figures with some
weathering on the feet.
R2-D2 (Astromech
Droid)
Though foul weather and cold can sometimes endanger astromech
droids, Artoo did not hesitate to rush to his mistress’ side and
warn her on the impending Chameleon Droid attack. R2-D2 is a repaint
or repack of a 2001 astromech droid according to the date stamp.
Chameleon
Droid (Qty. 2)
So named because of their ability to seamlessly blend in with their
surroundings, these modified probe droids launched devastating
sabotage and sneak-attack missions across the galaxy. They destroyed
the crystal caves on Ilum, and nearly dispatched two Jedi Knights in
the process. These two droids are an all new sculpt. One is in solid
form and the other is in transition form as seen in the Clone Wars
Cartoon.
SUMMARY
Overall I am happy with the Ambush on Ilum Battle Pack. Not only do
you get three new sculpted figures you also get a repaint and or
repack of everyone’s favorite droid duo. For $19.99 MSRP you cannot
go wrong. Target made a good decision to carry this Battle Pack. It
seems that Target is the Star Wars exclusive toys retail store. Look
for more in 2007 for more exclusive Star Wars toys at Target such as
more Battle Packs, Order 66 2-packs, and vehicles.
