GENERAL GRIEVOUS (Concept) Signature Series – Warren J. Fu

Hasbro released a Signature Series of twelve figures based on artist
Ralph McQuarrie. Now joining the Signature Series line of figures is
the concept version of General Grievous by artist Warren J. Fu.
Artist Profile: Warren J. Fu worked as a visual effects art director
at Industrial Light & Magic and was part of the concept art team for
Episode III. He has contributed his artistic vision to all three
movies in the Star Wars Prequel Trilogy. One of his most notable
contributions was the initial design for General Grievous, along
with later input from fellow Episode III concept artist Ian McCaig,
concept sculptor Robert E. Barnes, and concept design supervisor
Ryan Church.
In concept artist Warren Fu's artwork of General Grievous, the droid
commander has a more humanoid-looking form than the more robotic one
that becomes his ultimate design as seen in Star Wars – Revenge of
the Sith. His cold, calculating efficiency is still clearly captured
in the smooth metal casing and skull-like head.
