INTRODUCTION
Master Replicas originally planned to do a Collectors Edition of the Stormtrooper Helmet but the idea was shelved when they decided to concentrate on the LE (Limited Edition). However when Play.com a UK online retailer came to Master Replica seeking a
"special" the idea of the CE Stormtrooper helmet was back on track.
Despite originally saying that these would be a UK-only item, some of the large volume of theses helmets made it to the United States.
Made of ABS plastic the helmet is a four-part construction that is split up in a rather unusual way. The faceplate is in two sections and splits just below the frown, chin section, face (including ears), back and the dome.
The detailing on this helmet is far better that what one would expect for a CE edition helmet. The mic tips are separate injection molded pieces and include metal mesh. There is padding for the eyes as well as the roof of the helmet. The lenses are flat green.
Within the 501st I would say about 98% of the Stormtroopers use Stormtrooper armor know as F/X armor in which the helmet is oversized. This CE helmet matches the material used in these F/X suits of Stormtrooper armor and now many 501st members are switching out their old F/X helmet for the more accurate scale size of the CE Stormtrooper helmet.
