INTRODUCTION
Hasbro and Target has teamed up to create something called Special Action Figure Sets.
What is so special about it? Absolutely nothing. This exclusive set contains three packs of three figures based on figure sets from the 1980's. To go along with the Vintage Collection of items this set contains nine repacked and very slightly different deco figures.
The first set is Hoth Rebels that includes Han Solo (Blue Coat), Hoth Rebel Solider (Bearded) and
FX-7. The next set of figures is Bespin Alliance that includes the previous
Toys-R-Us exclusive Bespin wing Guard figure, Lando Calrissian and Luke Skywalker in his Bespin attire. The third and final set are Imperials. This set includes
4-LOM, AT-AT Driver and TIE Pilot.
You get nine repacked figures that most if not all Star Wars collectors already have. The only thing even to make this figure set worthwhile is for those who keep everything packaged. Otherwise this is a wasted effort on Hasbro's part not bringing anything new to the Star Wars fan. There is one other positive thing I can see about this set, it would make a great gift for a child to open up on Christmas day who is into Star Wars. What child would not like to get a bunch of figures at one time?
They say the current economy is hurting sales at stores. Items like this are not needed. Bring us something new that we can use to spend our hard earned credits
on, or try to bring more value to the product. There should be
more value added to a set like this for fifty dollars, more than
preying off the nostalgia of Star Wars collectors.
