INTRODUCTION:
The third wave centered
around Star Wars: A New Hope featured old favorites like R2-D2, Han
Solo and Chewbacca but also brought some of the patrons of the
cantina that have yet to been made until now. There were once again
the fill-ins of #35 Padme Amidala (2008 TLC Evolutions) and #37
Clone Commander Deviss (2005 RotS #33 repaint) but overall a great
wave with two more Build-A-Droid figures. A unique highlight would
have to be the concept Ki-Adi-Mundi even though we can't figure out
why he's with this wave.
29 - R2-D2
Scavenging Jawas find
R2-D2 in the Jundland Wastes. They incapacitate the droid and attach
a restraining bolt to keep him from escaping. They plucky astromech
droid is then placed in the cluttered hold of the Jawas' sandcrawler.
30 - Han Solo
After rescuing Princess
Leia, Han battles his way back to the Death Star's hangar. The
stormtrooper disguise came in handy, but now it's his bold nature
and his blaster that will free him from the Empire's clutches.
31 - Chewbacca
Chewbacca must quickly
prepare the Millennium Falcon to leave Tatooine when stormtroopers
arrive in pursuit of the ship's new passengers. The Wookiee fires up
the engines as Han Solo exchanges blaster fire with the imperial
troopers.
32 - Imperial
Scanning Crew
An imperial scanning crew
checks the Millennium Falcon to make sure no one is on board. The
two-man crew brings the scanner onto the ship and quickly discovers
the vessel is not as empty as it first appeared to be.
33 - Hrchek Kal
Fas
Hrchek Kal Fas is a Saurin
droid trader who frequents Chalman's cantina when he's on Tatooine.
He saw a report about two "lost" droids and tried to
follow C-3PO when the protocol droid left the cantina but lost him
in the busy streets.
34 - Leesub Sirln
Leesub Sirln is a Qiraash
and one of the patrons in Mos Eisley cantina on Tatoonine. She is
hiding from Imperial authorities that suspect her of having
precognitive powers and have declared her a Force adept.
36 - Boba Fett
Boba Fett is a merciless
bounty hunter whose distinctive armor contains countless weapons and
devices. Son of notorious bounty hunter Jango Fett, Boba tracks and
eventually captures Han Solo.
38 - Concept
Ki-Adi-Mundi
In this Episode III
concept art by Derek Thompson, Ki-Adi-Mundi wears a cape and has an eye patch
over one eye. This more battle-weary appearance was designed to
indicate that the Clone Wars have been raging for years and are
taking their toll on the Jedi.
39 - Jawa &
Security Droid
KPR security droids are
used to monitor perimeters and maintain security devices. During
their scavenging for lost and abandoned equipment, the Jawas find
one of these droids and offer it for sale at moisture farms on
Tatooine.
Build-A-Droid
R3-A2
R3-A2 was an orange R3-series astromech droid. It was seen in the Rebel base during the Battle of Hoth.
Build-A-Droid
R4-P44
R4-P44 was a R4-series astromech droid that was assigned to Jedi General Obi-Wan
Kenobi's clone trooper forces while stationed on Utapau. It was used aboard an
ARC-170 starfighter of the Fifth Fleet. The droid, like R4-P17, had the dome of a R2 unit.
