One of the greatest things
about Star Wars is learning about new characters. You'd never know from the few
seconds of film in Return of the Jedi how much of an interest Tycho Celchu had
in the destruction of the second Death Star. A member of the feared Rebel Rogue
Squadron, one would have to dig up some of the older Expanded Universe X-Wing
comic books by Michael Stackpole to learn more than the package offers. This
character was also in novels by Stackpole and Aaron Allston. Seeing this figure
makes me want to dust off my copy of Solo Command! It's great to see Hasbro
recognize more of the hype that surrounds the Expanded Universe. What's nice
about Tycho is they have quite a bit of documented back story on this character. |

figure itself offers much more than the blend of re-used parts he features. With
a few scraps from the VOTC Luke X-Wing, I can honestly say I like the variety
with the optional soft and hard helmets they included. Therefore you get to see
him as seen in the film but yet use him in action with the hard helmet in the
A-Wing. I really like the detail they can put into a sub-character but yet drop
the ball with a main like Luke Skywalker? The paint scheme is also appearing to
be accurate as the shading really seems to match what we see in Return of the
Jedi. I'm just wondering why a blaster wasn't included if it was his choice of
weapon? |

pulled out all the stops everywhere else, I really enjoyed the great
articulation they put into Tycho. You can say much better than any of the
previous A-Wing pilots that we saw in the Rebel Pilots Cinema Scene or even the
Saga A-Wing which featured a pretty good pilot figure. We could also hope they
would put this much into each and every release. I'm wondering why they wouldn't
just use the heads or other pieces on G.I. Joe figures because something about
the way this guy looks just screams Short Fuse, for those of us who are Joe
enthusiasts. Perhaps if they used parts in two lines they wouldn't have to stick
it to us as many time in a year with rehashes. |

I really liked this figure on just about every aspect. Other than
including a blaster, the only thing I really didn't like was how
difficult it was to keep the back piece of the harness attached to his
back. However not enough to turn my thumb down. |
