Castle: Hasbro releases another Stormtrooper, this time with a removable helmet. What's not to love? Who doesn't need more Stormies in the army? Personally I don't think I'll ever have enough Stormtroopers, so if Hasbro decided to put two of these guys in every case pack from now till the end of the year you'd hear no complaints from me. Especially when the figure is as good as this one is.f

Not as cool as you would have thought. Click thumbnail for large image
This figure pretty much takes the cake as far as Stormtroopers go. Good articulation, good details, decent accessories (okay, maybe that one is stretching it a bit), and for the first time a removable helmet on everyone's favorite OT army builder. There have been several decent Stormtroopers released over the last several years, starting with the Commtech Stormtrooper. From there we went to the VOTC which was the peak of the Stormtrooper mold for most collectors. Last year we got the Tantive IV version, which was just the Sandtrooper from the Evolutions set without the dirt and pauldron. This is basically that same figure, with a removable helmet added.

The real deal. For instant pimpizms add dirt, bfg, backpack. Click thumbnail for large image
That's not to say that it's a perfect figure. This figure lacks the waist articulation of the VOTC sculpt. Why? Who knows. It doesn't detract too much, but would have been a nice feature to add. It also has a less-detailed helmet than some of the other releases. Again, not too much detraction, but would have been nice. And lastly, the blaster that this figure comes with is not so good. The past few years, Hasbro has made a switch to using smaller weapons made out of a lower quality, thinner plastic. The result is not so good.

FINAL THOUGHTS:
Castle - I'll take these Stormtroopers by the truckload for my collection, even with the minor negative points that I've outlined above and below. So far these haven't been too hard to find by recent standards. I've found quite a few, which has made me a happy collector. And I'll keep going back for more, and pick up as many as I can get my hands on.

-  Helmet lacks detail.
-   No waist articulation?
-   Legs are a bit close together for my taste.
+   Removable helmet Stormtrooper!! What's not to love about that?
