Spice: There is no doubt fans are simply enamored with pretty much anything from the Star Wars expanded universe. Darth Revan is no exception. What fan wouldn't want to learn about events that transpired nearly four thousand years before A New Hope? The mystique, mystery it's something I have felt since... Perhaps before the prequels when the most feared villain in the universe was more of a mystery but I'll fight that war in another review. I really loved the artwork on the front of the card. It's pretty ironic the figure also has an asterisk next as well but I'll save that for the final thoughts and for now focus on the figure.

A good choice but was it really the ONE? Click thumbnail for large image
I really think they had no choice but they had to go with an all new sculpt. I hope this doesn't put them into bankruptcy but for a fans' choice* I'd expect nothing less. While the robe can be very restricting as far as pose ability is concerned, if you roll the elbows long enough you can manage a variety of action poses. Another interesting aspect is the extensive detail put into the gauntlets, belt and other areas of the costume. Then if that wasn't enough they managed to do another great paint job to really set things off on a positive note. The only thing I really didn't like was the way the skirt interfered with standing the figure up.

They didn't stop with great paint. I was really impressed with the lightsaber. I was wishing they still used the commtech chip so I could hear a battle cry from Reno Romano (who did voice acting for Knights of the Old Republic) to accompany that unique saber. Another interesting feature was the removable robe so you can see his Sith scarred melon and get a better look at a mask that makes me think of the Emperor's Royal Guard. Overall you couldn't ask for more in a new figure. Something we haven't seen before and one of the top fan choice figures from 2006.

FINAL THOUGHTS:
Spice - I think it's pretty crappy Hasbro didn't give us the real fans' choice, the package states *as selected in Toyfare Magazine's Top 25 Fans Choice Poll but we all know it was Quinlan Vos. As much as Hasbro is game for slapping something in a new wrapper and calling it new, it should have been the figure the FANS voted for. However that wasn't enough to make me turn my thumb down to the figure.
