Spice: Wave five in the thirtieth anniversary collection is perhaps the best in the series by far. With figures like Pre-Cyborg Grievous, Darth Revan, there is no doubt Hasbro put a quite a bit of chap stick on this wave in what we can only hope kiss the rear ends of the collectors that have kept this line growing strong for years. Fans of Knights of the Old Republic have wanted to see this figure for years, there is no doubt it was well worth the wait. The ominous presence of the Sith Lord will easily invite those of us who know very little of Malak to desire to learn more.

There is no doubt they have a little bit more play when it comes to sculpting the Expanded Universe characters. Other than Quinlan Vos and Mara Jade they really haven't used too many living models, therefore we can't really argue the accuracy point. I'm guessing it's easier to mold after an illustration vs. a real person. Any way you slice it, they did a good job generating the buzz of mystique on this character. I liked the details in the paint job but I would think it'd be a shade or two darker? It's pretty safe to say I'd like to see Sith Lords a little less flamboyant! I also enjoyed the extra effort in giving us both lightsaber and handle for multiple posing purposes.

There is no doubt one of the cooler features would have to be the removable apparatus that covers the lightsaber wound inflicted by his former Sith Master Darth Revan! The prosthetic was made necessary as many of us always wondered what would happen if you slipped up during training! While I did like most of the articulation, they did it to us again and put the dreaded rolling, money saving elbows. Why not just spend the good money and give us a superior product? Other than that flaw I have no other issue with the way he moves around. The only major change I'd possibly make would be going with a soft good cape, as the hard plastic can give you a bit of trouble positioning him in particular poses.

FINAL THOUGHTS:
Spice - While there were a couple things I did not like about this figure, there was simply too much to enjoy. It's safe to say Hasbro pretty much got a hall pass on the majority of wave five as my thumb has been pretty north on the entire wave thus far!
