Castle: Luke Skywalker, Farm boy, version 13894. Why does Hasbro keep returning to remake figures that we already have multiple versions of? Because they can't get it right the first time. Or the second time. Or the third, fourth, or fifth times apparently. And this version is no different. Does Hasbro even know who Luke Skywalker is? Because this figure, this isn't Luke. This isn't even Luke. The face on this figure looks nothing like Luke. It barely looks human. This probably looks more like the sculptor's son than it looks like Luke. I mean, geez. Not even close.

Since when do the pack-ins out do the figures? Click thumbnail for large image
The rest of the figure is almost as bad. OK, the torso and arms were a nice touch. Recently Hasbro has been giving us some figures with excellent articulation, and this figure started out OK as well. But what happened? What about the legs? With all the advancements in the latest waves of figures, if a figure gets issued without knee/ankle articulation it's a failure in my eyes. They already have a decent lower body already made from the VOTC Luke figure. Why not just re-use those parts? All of sudden Hasbro's not interested in re-using past parts? Since when?

I'm not sure who it is but it's not Luke! Click thumbnail for large image
About the only thing that makes this hunk of (junk) plastic worth buying is the new moisture vaporator pack-in accessory and the shiny new coin. The moisture vaporator is an accessory that fans have been asking for since the beginning. And now Hasbro finally comes through, and in a good way. While it's not perfect (the plastic used is a little rubbery for my taste) it is pretty close. And the coin? These coins are like crack to Star Wars fans, and Hasbro knows it. We need to have every one. Even the collectors who aren't buying the figures want the coins.

FINAL THOUGHTS:
Castle - If you need the coin for your collection (and who doesn't?) or you want a really cool accessory (and a background character no one will recognize) for your Tattooine diorama, pick this one up. Otherwise, forget it.

+  The moisture vaporator is quite possibly the greatest pack-in accessory ever.
-   This isn't Luke.
-   Did I say how much this looks NOT like Luke?
-   Did we really need another version of Farm boy Luke in the first place?
