Spice: Our first look at wave 2 begins with the Rebel Honor Guard. It's safe to say we didn't really get any too good of look at this character, I can't think of a more solid choice to represent Star Wars: A New Hope than this! Most of us recall the couple scenes easily as the Falcon landed on Yavin, and who could forget the closing ceremony where they lined the room with the many other Rebels who were so celebratory of what would only be a lucky shot! The package story says the many officers of the Alliance lacked dress uniforms, retained theirs from Alderaan. It's hard to believe this figure has been ignored this long as thirty years later the mystery continues to unravel for many of us.

Just what we need, more targets! Click thumbnail for large image
The fact is you could have many of these figures for your Rebel army and we can only hope Hasbro had the foresight to reflect this in their case assortment. There is no doubt the Death Star Trooper and Maquarrie Concept Boba Fett will be the rough find of the wave, I would guess this to be a distant third. What is really nice is the facial sculpt they used, as he doesn't really resemble anyone in particular. You can see where they might have used pieces of figures such as Captain Antilles for the helmet, once again proving they do not have to crank out figure after figure of the same thing. You can still use parts to generate other figures vs. fleecing the people who generate most of your profits.

I do really like the idea of the Big H slipping in their logo on the belt buckle similar to the style used for most of the early waves of G.I. Joe figures. I'm such a big sucker for nostalgia, I knew right away that the "h" didn't stand for honor guard! I really like the way the uniform features vaguely stand out, and they did a great job packing him full of articulation to help create the variety of poses any piece of Rebel cannon fodder truly deserves! I also really like the details of being able to adjust the visor, holstering blaster and really upping the ante with the staff. This is a great figure packed with something we all can't get enough of. Options!

FINAL THOUGHTS:
Spice - I really like it when they make the action figure review this easy. I can't see what a collector wouldn't like about this figure. We get an all new release and yet a figure we've all waited for many years to see. A must have!

+   I really like this choice for the thirtieth anniversary, I'd like to see more like it!
-   You can bet this will be in high demand, builders usually are.
+    You can easily have more than one with the variety of  poses you can create!
+    This isn't a bad figure at all, for a piece of Rebel Scum!
