Rounding out Wave 4, we come to the last figure in the wave that seems to sum up a lot of what Hasbro has been making lately - untouchable. That is, you can't touch what you can't find... but I was able to find a CZ-4, and here are my thoughts on it. I have to commend Hasbro once again for having the balls to make figures such as this - a droid who has no speaking lines, and shows up on-screen for a mere second, two at the most - in a line of action figures that by their own admission is geared towards children, and not adult, collectors. |
Click thumbnail for large image For a droid action figure, CZ has great articulation. Knee, ankle and torso articulation do not jump immediately to mind when I think of driods, or what I would expect to find articulated in a droid action figure. This is not to say that it is "unnecessary" to have such articulation - on the contrary, it's most welcome. Although I do have to point out that this new CZ droid can be placed in far more - and far better - action poses than a lot of the Jedi action figures in my collection, thanks to the articulation. I really think that Hasbro needs to come up with some kind of "standard" and have all the figures follow it. |
Click thumbnail for large image The paint job on this action figure, while very nice in it's own right, is not very accurate with the source material that I've seen on the character. He seems to be waaay too dirty. Also, an interesting thing about this figure - the cardback description tells us that this droid was found at the bottom of Jabba's dungeon (meaning Episode VI - Return of the Jedi) but the back of his coin shows "A New Hope" as the movie this character comes from. There is another CZ droid in A New Hope (CZ-3) so that may be where Hasbro got confused. A repaint will undoubtedly be coming in the near future, although very little painting - if any - will really need to be done. No word yet on if there will be a corrected version of the coin made available. And if they do make a correction, it's just one more coin that won't fit in the binder. |
FINAL
THOUGHTS:
 |
Castle -
Yet another character that Hasbro pulled from the vast pool of unmade figures that seems to actually be dwindling recently. Keep up the good work and maybe before the license runs out in 2018 there won't be any left. |

And yet another unproduced character gets crossed off the list... great job. |

Better articulation than a lot of other action figures, who could actually use it. |

Hasbro "digging in the crates" for the unknown characters to make can only mean good things for the future |

Paintjob needs to be refined just a bit. |
