Castle: Boba Fett, Animated Debut. Animated Debut Boba Fett?? You mean this is a figure that is based on the first appearance of Boba Fett from the Holiday Special which no one will even admit that exists? It's going to be hard for Lucas to keep denying the existence of this Holiday Special as 2007 appears to be the year of the Animated Fett... first we had the GG maquette, and now Hasbro delivers a Boba Fett with the same coloration. Even though it's nothing more than a repaint, it's a repaint of one of the nicest figures ever done by Hasbro.

A few minor differences between this one and the original VOTC version (and now the Saga Legends version), along with a snazzy new paintjob (that matches the yellow and blue color scheme from the animated short that was shown during that program that doesn't exist) and a neat pitchfork (or electropole, as they call it) accessory. If you look closely, you'll see that the forearm gauntlets have been tweaked ever so slightly. And he has a new belt, sporting a new holster as well. Overall, some nice improvements that make this figure different enough to be "new", but still the same old Boba.

The only minor gripe I have with this figure is the same gripe I had with the original. The upper arms are just a bit too bulky for me, and it takes a little bit away from an otherwise flawless sculpt. Other than that, this is a pretty awesome, flawless figure. The paintjob is nice and clean (at least on the figure I have, but I know that's not always the case) even if I'm not fond of the color scheme. But it's nice to have a version of Boba that I never thought I would see, ever, in a million years.



FINAL THOUGHTS:
Castle -It's Boba Fett as he appeared in a TV show that doesn't exist... of course you need it!! And don't forget, free coin!!

+   It's Boba Fett!! What's not to love?
-   Hasbro repaint mania strikes again... but at least it's Boba Fett
+ Another great sculpt/paint job by Hasbro. This line just keeps getting better and better.
+  Hopefully this is just the first in a new line of Holiday Special figures, even though that program doesn't exist.
