"Dad Taun weee's Heee-aaaghhh" - Finally, a cool Classic Trilogy Boba Fett again, not the whiny kid from Episode II

Spice - Most
definitely J, the stand kicks all forms of A$%. I really thought
it would stink it up but upon removal from the package, is a very
pleasant surprise. I can hear Beavis screaming FIRE, FIRE, FIRE!
You cant remove the rocket pack but at least they did this
with it to compensate. Plugs in quite nicely to the rocket pack
and really doesnt require that much maneuvering to make it
work. I guess the biggest complaint I have is the lack of
articulation in the arms and legs. This thing has limited pose
ability, but really guys its Boba Fett, and not the snot
nosed punk in AOTC so how could a true fan of Star Wars not like
it? I better watch my mouth or well get one every series
for the next three years.
J - I
recall a care free lad with cheek of tan, back on September 10,
1997, buying his first Star Wars figure from the new 1990's
series, he was happy with his POTF Boba Fett. Well, that lad was
Sandtrooper Jason and now, almost six years later, I am happy
again. Why have "Dad, Taun We's hee-ugh," when you can
have "He's no good to me dead." Now I have to hit you
all with a Dateline follow-up here, I was pleased with something
minor, and that was the neck and collar proportions - they got it
right here with this one. The plastic cape doesn't bother me, but
I still think this could have been a great soft goods wave like I
was ranting on about in the Tusken and Padme reviews. Again, too,
with the ROJ version, we get something new: the street legal
sawed-off blaster. All you Skiff freaks out there can now
recreate the Sarlacc Pit moments like when Luke cuts it in half
or later when a blind dude with a stick pushes him into the Pit.
Spice -
Yes, again right on the money J. I recall purchasing my first Red
Carded Boba Fett too. I was really cool to see them make it again.
I didnt care if it had full, half or quarter circles on his
hands. All that mattered was it was him! In fact since I had
Jeremy Bulloch sign mine like the rest of the Star Wars
collecting community who are convention junkies like me! I love
the weapon on Boba Fett too. It makes us wonder, will we get to
see in Episode III how he decided to choose this weapon rather
than daddys Quick Draw McGraw attack? We all saw where that
landed him! The soft goods do not appear to be a factor in this
figure, and while the blast effect can be a struggle for younglings
like mine, it is a great add in.
FINAL
THOUGHTS:
| Spice - Overall I give it a huge thumbs up. To the heavens with ya Boba! |
| Jason - This is one of those Hasbro 'salvaging their image by making a quality product' moments. If all the figures were as well done as this one, I wouldn't have anything to complain about. I wish I had Arsenio Hall here, because right after I give my thumbs up, I am going to HIT YOU WITH THE DIGITS AMERICA! |
