continue our review of the Tatooine wave with another great figure, although a
wonderful surprise is this one has never been made before. Hem Dazon, while only
shown briefly in the Mos Eisley Cantina has finally made an impact after a near
30 years. The great people at Hasbro were kind enough to grant us our wishes.
Since we do not have anything else to compare him to, it's really a breath of
fresh air to get something totally new. It is very ironic that Hem Dazon is one
of the first characters you see in the Cantina, but one of the last to be made
into an action figure. Especially when you think about how many times we've seen
Greedo and Hammerhead. |

was quite a bit of detail jammed into this release. As stated before, it's very
difficult to interpret if they did a good job or not, seeing as you only saw
this character for only a few short seconds. One of the greater strengths I
found was the massive articulation that allows a wide variety of poses. I really
think this neck articulation brings out some wicked looking poses. The pack in
table and drink allows the collector to create many more scenes than we were
treated to in A New Hope. The paint blends very well, the neutral colors mesh
wonderfully with the skin tones. The wrists turn, as well as the ankles and
waist so you definitely do not have a one pose wonder. |

I had a lot of difficulty finding any sort of flaw, one of the greatest things I
could appreciate was the weapon and holster option. Even though we didn't see
Hem Dazon in any sort of action, he barely even moved as Obi-Wan sliced and
diced some of Mos Eisely's most wanted. The weapon does seem a tad bit puny when
placed in the figures hand, but after seeing how well it conceals into the
holster I could only think this was a great idea and a perfect fit. People tend
to like options, even if it is on reptile-like aliens that were only seen for a
fraction of a second. |
FINAL
THOUGHTS:
 |
Spice -
I can only give
praise when it is a character that we currently don't own in our
collection. I really wish we could have this every single time. Hem
Dazon is a wonderful addition and a solid choice for this wave. Thumbs
up all day long. |

A great

They can't seem to shake
the fact people don't care about the holograms. Blue or red. |

Another
great highlight for this wave, hopefully a sign of more to come. |

It took nearly 30
years to make this figure! |
